SOURCE: forgot system password

There are a lot of Windows password revealers and crackers available, but I’ve found that Windows Password Recovery Tool is the most effective.:
it not only supports XP, 2000, and NT, I have personally tested it with Vista Home Premium and Ultimate. It works perfectly to reset any local user account to a blank password
You can use the ISO to burn a boot CD. Follow these instructions:
1. Download ISO file from http://www.windowspasswordsrecovery.com Windows Password Recovery Tool
2. Burn to a CD using a CD burning tool such as Nero or Roxio or MagicISO
3. Insert CD into drive and reboot.
4. You may have to select an option in the BIOS to get the computer to boot from the CD.
Booting up and clearing a password takes a minute or two works like a charm.

My Toshiba Satellite M65-S809 Laptop will not turn on! However it turns on randomly sometimes when i toy around with it, but that happens rarely. I tried removing battery, and cable to take out the static,...

Hi,

Im very sorry to hear that, please follow these simple steps for you to be able to isolate the exact problem.

1. Removed the battery.
2. Connect the laptop directly to the power outlet without using the battery just for the meantime.
3. Turn on the laptop. If the laptop is able to power on, that means that the AC adapter is working fine as well as the DC port. If the laptop is not able to turn on, it maybe the AC adapter itself or the DC port.
4. Try to use another AC adapter if possible, make sure that that AC adapter is working fine. If the laptop is still not turning on, the problem is with the DC port itself. In that case, you will need to replaced the Motherboard itself.

Hope this will help...Thank you for using Fixya...

Hi,

Thank you for sharing the beep code. It means that its a problem with the Video Card and Video Cards are usually buit-in to the Motherboard for laptops. The only way to fix it to replace the Motherboard in order to get the new Video Card. Hope I've helped you somehow.

LCD is back lit but no image, just black. It works sometimes and the laptop works fine if it's hooked up to an external monitor.

Sounds like the Screen is on its way out.

If you have the ability to set it up as a dual screen, and use your laptop as the main and your external monitor as the extended screen.

No backlight/display

Generally I replace the inverter board and tube light in pairs at the same time, due to changes possibly made during production.

If you are trying to test the board itself for output, use extreme caution, as there are some pretty high volatges around that inverter board!

My suggestion is if you want to save yourself alot of aggravation, replace the bulbs too.
