My lg 42pc5d tv remote sensor quit working. I am positive it isnt the remote. How can i fix this?
Check on the back of the TV to see if you have a "remote in" port. It will look the same as a 3.5mm headphone jack. Unplug the TV and plug a pair of headphone into the port and then remove it. Do this several times to breakup any debris that may have gotten into it or corrosion that may have occurred in the port. If something is in the port it will disable the standard remote sensor on the TV.
this did the trick. Thanks so much for your input.
Awesome, thank you so much
I tried this fix on my LG 50PG20 UA and it worked great. Remotes now work. Thanks

if everything else works fine, you just need to get a new IR sensor. does the tv kick on and work fine? some of these had bad caps - check my bulletin http://www.fixya.com/support/r5000889-re...
Hi thank you, yes everything seems to work ok except I cannot turn the tv on with the remote unless I stand close by so I have got into the habit of using the manual switch. How difficult is it to replace the sensor or should I get a professional to do this
