I was watching tv then suddenly it went off and the Standby light started blinking continously... no code just blinking. I tried resetting the tv by unplugging it... waiting for 5 minutes then plugging it back in... still the same result... MY TV is a KP53HS10 Rear Projection TV. I downloaded the repair manual but it has no troubleshooting section in it. What do I do?
Plugging it into a power surge didn't fix the problem for me.
I had the same problem with the video also blinking for a fraction of a second.
I FIXED it just now by plugging the electrical plug to a surge protector.
Hurraaayyyyy!!!! Is fixed.
Standby light is a signal indicating a voltage trouble on your system . It could mean a compoment is defective or a power regulator needs replacement worse is a system IC replacing. you better bring your stuff to a Sony service center and do a check on your TV system.

The service manual is for the technician who knows how to troubleshoot electronic circuits using the schematic diagram and test equipment. There is no such thing as a trouble shooting section in Sony service manuals. My best advice would be if you have no solid state repair experience, play it safe and call in a pro to assist you in this repair. Good Luck
