I have a sony kdf-60xs955 tv. I turned it on one afternoon and the green power light would blink to start up like it always did. But then the power light went red and the lamp light started blinking red. It continues to blink a red light. There is no pause in between a certain number of blinks (like the 6 blink cycle others are having). Can anyone help?

While holding down the reset button on the remote Press the power button on the tv (The tv will turn itself off the back on) Now release the reset button
our went out after about 2 years. We replace lamp and all was good. Now after 2 more years it went out again, replace lamp but didn't come back on this time. We found out the fuse inside that runs the fan blew. This was replaced but when put back together we got the same results. Green light then red blinking light. This has been a great TV but only 6 years old and really would like to have it working again. Any suggestions?our went out after about 2 years. We replace lamp and all was good. Sounds like it just needs a new lamp.
The way to tell is the lights in front:
green blinking as TV reboots = bad lamp
red three blinks = door switch
red four blinks = bad fan
6 or 9 blinks = bad thermal fuse
Once your television starts blinking the green light, then it means there is a problem inside the unit.
the problem simply is a bad lamp that is why you are having a black screen.
The solution is simply for you to replace the lamp of the television with a new one. To replace this, you will have to unscrew the television open and try to remove the old lamp and fix in a new one. It is very easy.
If you are still having the blinking light, then it means it is not only the lamp that is faulty, there also is a bad capacitor on either the main panel or the power panel of the television that needs to be replaced.
Once the bad capacitor is replaced, your television will be in good condition once again.
Hi, Question shows tv is Sony KDF-60WF655. Green light blinks when tv gets prepare to fire up lamp, check internal circuits then show picture on front screen. Red light blinking shows some kind of internal problem during circuit check and protection got activated upon some failure. Count the red light blink as you will see 3 second long pause and post it here to diagnose what section of tv got problem. Did you replaced its lamp in last 2-3 years? Thanks.
did you change your lamp? if so check thermal fuse.. i have same tv, it was great for about 18 months then went to ****.. light engine will go out soon, cost between 2,000 and 600 bucks.. i have major complaint with sony atm. i know several several ppl with sdame prblem, might get a class suit started against sony, they knew and did nothing. I am pretty upset with them since i have always been a sony fan until this.
Hi, If the Lamp red light is blinking then replace lamp, replacement procedure is written in user manual and its easy. If standby/ power red light is blinking then please count its blinking and post here. It is an error code that has info about problem in specific section of tv. You will see 3 seconds long pause between blinks so count pause to pause.
