Question about IBM Wheelwriter 6 Typewriter
When turning the typewriter on, the wheel spins - as normal.
However, when I start to type, the wheel doesn't spin at all. The head moves forward, but there is no impression left on the page.
Please help. I have had the typewriter since 1989 and love it.
The wheel is probably moving but the print solenoid cap is probably broken. We sell them with installation instructions and shipping for 20.00.

To answer your question yes the print wheel can be changed, BUT that is not your problem. The machine needs to be reset or the reset tab needs adjusting.
When you turn on the machine the print head moves to the right side, the print wheel spins, and the ribbon jumps up and down, that is the machine resetting its self.
