I had the same problem. We took the battery out twice and put it back in and it did not do anything. A third person tried taking out the battery and putting it back in and the phone works fine now.
I'd focus on the battery connections.

My motoq 9h is not booting up and the phone is stuck on windows mobile screen

Take out the battery for 2 minutes, then put it back in.

You are going to need to do a Master Reset which resets the phone to factory settings. This will erase all data entered into the phone, your contacts, calendar, etc., but will leave the SD card intact.

Hold down the center button of the navigational pad, and power button at the same time which will trigger the master reset. Follow the directions on the screen.

Once you've performed the master reset, goto the Motorola site to do a full update to your phone. This, in my experience, will eliminate the freezing problems associated with the Motorola Q9M, Q9c, Q9h, etc.

Good Luck!

Motorola Q9m frozen how can I get my contacts

I can't tell you how many times this phone has frozen, and unless you've been using a sync program, you're out of luck.

You can do a hard reset, which resets the phone to factory settings by removing the battery to shut down, then put the battery back in. Hold down the middle key on the silver directional pad while powering on. It takes 5-10 seconds but you will see the "Master Reset" option on your screen, follow the directions.

This happened all the time until I went to the Motorola site and did full phone update ( http://direct.motorola.com/hellomoto/Motosupport/source/SoftwareUpdateSelect.asp?country=USA&language=ENS ) Now my Q9m which used to freeze 1-2 times per month hasn't frozen in 6 months - good luck!

My phone randomly shut off and now will not turn back on...

Well, I'm guessing there's a circuit board problem. One of the Capacitors, or other wires got loose, and now it won't turn on. Don't try to turn it on anymore. You could send electricity through the wire and fry the circuit board (when this happens there will be a certain distinctive smell- the smell of hot solder- this means he phone's life gone. Now, I recommend you take it to the store and tell them to check the wires in the phone to make sure it isn't loose. If there is a loose wire, they'll fix it. Hope this Helped- snowsurfer58

Motorola q9m shuts down

maybe a phone issue but you can always try to reset the phone to see if that helps, ( power phone off, hold center button, power phone on keep holding center button until master reset screen comes on) , or most carriers like verizon and alltel i know have an update you can download and install from motorola.com ( click on support and then software downloads) may ask for purchase date cust put in a recent date and download is free. both reset and update will erase alll info off phone so back up first before you do them

Reset

well for the reset to work the phone has to fully charged or atleast 75% charged. 1. pull battery out. 2. press and hold center navigation button. 3. put battery back in. 4. press and hold power key( red end key) until keyboard or screen lights up then let go of power key. 5. continue to press center key until a black screen with green lettering comes up that says master reset.

It cant turn on

Just some suggestions. I have had my Q9m since September 07. If you reboot the phone nightly (take battery out put back) and allow to boot up again it help by resetting the RAM. Also under System Tools>Task Manager>Menu>Kill All - it seems that every program you use on the Q it keeps running which causes the Q to slow down and freeze. I know doing these things can be a pain however my Q has been running with zero issues since September. I also have the origional Q in black for over 16 months and I wouldnt trade either phone for anything on the market currently. As far as the screen sticking on the Verizon Logo...try taking battery out, power on and as soon as logo appears pull battery out quick and replace...you may need to do this a few times but it will bypass what ever is causing this boot up error. Windows Mobile 6 certainly isnt perfect. Hope these suggestions help.
