Factory Data Reset- Factory Data Reset can be accessed through your settings which can be found either on your main screen or in your Apps/Widgets (tap on 6 squares in upper right hand corner) menu. From settings, on the left hand column, tap on Backup and Reset. On the right hand side tap on Factory Data Reset. This will take you to a screen that will give you the option to check the Erase SD card option which, when checked, will ensure that your pictures and any other personal information on this device will delete during the reset. Last, tap on Reset tablet and Erase everything.

Here is a procedure to reset the TI-89 to factory settings (found online):

Press the "Snd Mem" key to display the memory screen.

Press the "F1" key.

Press the navigation key to select the "RAM" icon, then select "1: All RAM" to erase all data and programs from the random access memory and press the "Enter" key, or select "2: Default" and press the "Enter" key to reset all system variables to original factory settings. This preserves any user-defined variables, functions and folders.

Press the navigation key to select the "Flash ROM" icon, then select "1: Archive" and press the "Enter" key to erase all data and programs from the read-only memory or select "2: Flash Apps," then press the "Enter" key to erase all applications from the Flash ROM. Select the "All Memory" icon and press the "Enter" key to erase all data, programs and flash applications from the RAM and Flash ROM.

Protected pictures cannot be erased using (erase),(sel. image) or (all erase) but they are all erased by formatting the memory card.

You can delete photos from your SX130 IS in two ways:
To Delete Photos Individually:

1. Press Playback Mode button (looks like a play button and is located on the top right on the LCD-side of your camera)
2. The last image you took will appear on the LCD screen.
3. Use the Left & Right arrow keys or turn scroll wheel to cycle through your images
4. Once you find an image you want to delete, press the Trash button. The image will be erased.
5. Press the Playback Mode button or the FUNC/SET buttons to exit when done

To Delete ALL Photos

1. Press the MENU button (bottom right button on LCD-side of camera) to bring up the Menu screen
2. On the Playback tab (Looks like a Play button icon), use the arrow buttons or turn scroll wheel to scroll down to Erase. Press the FUNC/SET button.
3. You now have three options Select, Select Range, and All images. Select will allow you to delete individual images, Select Range will allow you to select a series of images, and All images will delete all images from memory. This last one is the option we are looking for.
4. Use the arrow keys or scroll wheel to choose All images
5. Use the arrow key or scroll wheel to select OK when the Erase confirmation screen pops up.
6. Your images will be erased!

Go to the playback menu and select it (you may have to adjust the circular option know to get to the playback menu). Once there, scroll to the picture(s) that are locked by using the sideways selection arrow buttons. Then select the up or down arrows, which will lock or unlock your picture. You can also erase any locked pictures, in case you want to, by formatting the xD card. Hope this helps.

The key means that the picture is locked so you can not erase by accident. You need to remove the key be for you can erase the pic. If you have the manual it will tell you how. if not get me the model of camera and I will get you a manual.

On page 22 of your user manual it talks about protecting images. Looks like you go to playback menu use the arrow keys to select the locked image - then press up or down arrow to remove the key symbol fromt he image by selecting ON or OFF.

If the image has a small icon of a skeleton key along the bottom when viewing it, it means the image has been protected. You have to un-protect the image to erase it. This is done from the Playback Menu (the one with the arrow on the tab). Specific instructions are on page 115 in the manual. (Manual is available here if you don't have it.)
