The 1212 will not do what you want it to do...its just not capable of taking longitude and latitude.you can get copy of your manual for your 1212 here

.probably the easiest way around this problem, is to get the address somehow (was there a phone number provided with the rv location list)

if you know the approximate location, you can use google maps to zoom in and get a street address
google maps here

you could also use google earth if you have it..if not, you can get it here very cool even if youll only use it once.

you can enter longitude and latitude in google earth

let me know if you need more help

good luck

To view the coordinates of a saved location on your nuvi

  1. Touch Tools (wrench icon)
  2. Touch Settings
  3. Touch System
  4. Turn ON the GPS Simulator
  5. Touch OK
  6. Hold Back to return to the main menu
  7. Touch Where To?
  8. Touch Favorites
  9. Select a favorite location
  10. Touch Show Map
  11. Touch Set Location
  12. Hold Back to return to the main menu
  13. Touch Tools1
  14. Select Where Am I
Here you will see the coordinates for the saved location.
1. For nuvi 200 series units that do not have the Where Am I feature, skip the above steps 13-14. The coordinates can be found by pressing the vehicle icon on the View Map page.

How do i insert a negative (-) deg co-ordinate into my nuvi 200

Positive Lat Lon coordinates are for the eastern and northern hemispheres respectively. If you have a negative coordinate, they indicate a location in the western or southern hemisphere.

To enter a Latitude coordinate of, for example, -31 degrees, you would enter 31 degrees, but specify S (for South) rather than N (for North)

Negative Lon coordinates would use W (for West) instead of E (for East)

ETrex Legend, GPS Coordinates from Google Earth Don't Match Basemap

Are you sure you're using the exact same format on GoogleEarth and your GPS?

GoogleEarth: save the waypoints in a KML file (NOT KMZ) to your computer, naming it appropriately.
Go to http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/gpsbabel/ and convert the KML file to a GPX file, using their converter. They will present you with a file to download. Download it and send those waypoints to your unit and you'll be set to go.
