I have a major oil leak going on somewhere above my starter on my 2003 chevy malibu. Does anyone know if its a simple fix or an expensive one??? I just bought this car and barely got the overheating...

Intake gasket is shot or of it has been replaced it was poor work
These engines are famous for intake gasket issues more so if it has GM dexcool antifreeze. 700-1000 in shop. Find a good back yarder. Parts arround 100. Couple hun for labour

1999 chevy Malibu... Battery is fine and dash lights are fine when key is turned on but starter will not even attempt to engage.

Remove the power wires to the starter, turn the key to start to check for power, should have 13.6 volts, or what the capacity of you batteery is at the time, check it with a volt meter. If got power, replace starter or unbolt it from engine, it may be stuck in the flywheel, you'll see it release if just stuck, then replace on car and try to start before buying a starter.

My 99 chevy malibu takes a while to start. it sounds like its trying to catch but it takes a couple of tries. someone told me it was the starter. does that sound right?is so where would it be located?

define trying to catch. is the engune turning over but sounding like it may start then finally does? or does the starter spin but the engine is not turning unless you turn the key to start a few times if it is the latter it could very well be the starter. check to see if you have an oil leak onto the starter. if it very greasey then you will need to adress the oil leak too. the starter is located on the lower right side of the engine. (passanger side.)

2002 chevy malibu won't start

Does the starter make any noise or click when you turn the key to start? If it does not, chk. battery could be bad, and battery cables could be loose or corroded. If there good and clean and battery is good try tapping starter see if it will turn and start if it does or still clicks starter bad. It could be ignition switch if it does nothing at all, but if it clicks most likely its starter.
