Power locked cannot turn tv off

You can reset and eliminate the lock on some televisions without the remote, using a few tactics. Hold the power button for five seconds. The television will automatically restart. If the lock is still on, unplug the television and remove the battery from the back panel of the television.

You're going to need the remote to fix this one. If you have any other GE or RCA tv's you can try it. Most of the remotes that are produced within a few years of your television will probably work. hold volume up and menu buttons at same time for 10 seconds - under left edge of tv

Try resetting the TV to factory settings thusly:

Turn on the TV. While holding down the RESET button on the remote
control, press the POWER button on the TV. (The TV will turn itself off, then
back on again.) Release the RESET button.

On the tv itself hold down channel up button while holding that press and hold the menu button . this will un lock it

using remote ,press unlock then press power on.

using your remote, fine the unlock and press,then press power

If you forget your password you can reset it. Make sure the TV is off. Simultaneously press and hold VOL< on the TV?s front panel and CLEAR on the remote for approximately 5 seconds. Enter a new password next time you access the PARENTAL CONTROL menu. Front Panel Lock 1. From the PARENTAL CONTROL menu, press the up or down arrow to highlight Lock Fr. Panel. 2. Press the right or left arrow to turn on (box has check mark) or off (box doesn?t have check mark) front panel lock. Of course if you don't have a remote that can bring up the menu I don't know how this can be done.

I'm guessing what you have there is an Akai CFT2791 made by Samsung? And a CFT2729 is not a good model number. You will need to get into the menu and then sub menus to change or turn off the child lock feature. The procedure is well described in the owner's manual and I have the manual.
