How can I still use this TV?

find another TV, VCR (many around now), or other cable using device and exchange - 7 or so screws on  back of tv come right off and expose lower interface where cable jack is.  remove wires, solder salvaged unit in and it works....  Be careful when removing back of tv -  you can pull other wires when doing so.

No video signal

• The resolutions available for HDMI output depend on the connected TV or projector. For
details, see the user’s manual of your TV or projector.
• When the resolution is changed during playback, it may take a few seconds for a normal
image to appear.
• If you set the HDMI output resolution 720p or 1080i, HDMI output provides better picture
quality.
• If 720P or 1080i is selected, C-VIDEO, S-VIDEO and component video will not ouput video
signal. Press and hold the SUBWOOFER button on the front panel to reset the HDMI
Resolution setting.

If connected to the PC, try lowering the resolution. The maximum resolution supported by this model is SVGA compressed (800 x 600). At higher resolutions, I have seen a vertical stripe similar to what you described
