SHARP AQUOS WILL NOT PLAY DVD SAYS IT NEED UPGRADE CODE?

The dvd player is actually a computer and the firmware is its equivalent of Windows Media Player - it needs to be upgraded to play the latest disks. You can get it and the instructions on how to install it from here

Version PF9200400 is the most current version and it was released on 4-26-10.
When the unit is updated to that version it should play the bluray. If you continue to have problems with playing blurays you might need repair as the drive may need to be repaired. If your unit is in warranty you can call Sharp and speak to someone in aquos advantage dispatch to get a refurbished unit as an exchange if you don't want to send the unit in to be repaired.

All u need to do is to visit the manufacturer website,you will see a link "download driver upgrade". Download this upgrade and store it in a flash (if your player has a usb port) or just burn it on an empty CD.

Insert the CD or flash drive into your player,the system recognizes the upgrade and automatically installs it..and you are good to go

Download update file from sharp website, refer to your owners manual for instructions on SOFTWARE UPGRADE. If you need help with the update Sharp customer care will guide you trough the process.

Probably something like a BIOS update. The Sharp site should have it. May be under a support section. Read how to do it at the site. Sometimes, doing that is a little risky. Look for forums where people have done it, either there is much success, or much failure updating. If it fails, you will most likely have to send it or take it to a authorized repair place.
