Greetings from GoVacuum,

Here's an instructional video that we made showing how to change the belt on a Hoover Windtunnel upright. If your model is not a self propelled model, basically follow the same insturctions, expect instead of placing the belt over the pulley, just put the belt through the roller brush, and stretch the roller brush back into the agitator housing.
Please feel free to send me an email if you have any other questions. My email address is [email protected].

Thanks,

Chris Jones

Take off the bottom plate, the belt and brush roll are there, If you don't see the motor shaft, then you will have to take off the top cover to get to it. But the belt goes around the motor shaft and the around the brush roll. And the belt will stretch to reach.

How to stop the main belt from comming off the motor shaft on a hoover modle u6634-900/windtunnel

Hello there! If you have replaced the belt and it is still slipping off, you may be not have the right belt for your vacuum. This unit takes a flat belt and a v-belt. Make sure you are replacing the belts with Genuine Hoover Parts. I have included the links below where you may go to order the belts specific to your cleaner.

Hoover self-propelled windtunnel U6430-900 flat belt gets hot & becomes hard to push. It has a filter bag. Purchased 8/2/01. Took one plate off bottom. Used a compressor to blow out dirt & dust. ...

Belts get hot when fibers from carpet get wound arounf the belts mounting shaft. Best to take a razor and cut off any fibers so the belt doesn't get hot again

I have a hoover wind tunnel model# u6476-900 and I'm having trouble replacing the belt. The extra belt that came with it was belt # 38528-035 and it's smaller then the old one and I'm having a hard time...

yes it is the right belt. the easiest way to get that belt on is to put it on the motor shaft first, stretch and start at the top of the self propelled pulley and rotate til the belt tracks on. you will need to keep pressure on the belt while you rotate the pulley. make sure you install the 38528-034 first before the flat belt

Does not move on its own. put in new back and the bag indicator says it is full

The belt that drives the self propelling feature is probably worn. Your model has two belts and they should be replaced yearly to ensure optimum performance. You can get the belts you need here:

Windtunnel belt

I've successfully used a compatible belt - Royal 104425001 .It's still new, but for the time being at least - it works.

Belt will not stay on hoover windtunnel s3765

The Hoover Windtunnel™ Self-Propelled models have two belts, a flat belt and the V-Belt. This V-Belt is the one that drives the Brush Roller. After about three months, most belts stretch out causing them to slip. This means the brushroll turns slower or not at all and the self-propelled becomes increasingly harder to push. It is recommended that both belts should be changed at the same time.

Hoover Windtunnel - the belt keeps coming off & it is the correct

One compatible belt that I use and works (at least while its new) is Royal 104425001. Try that.

Hoover very noisy after new belt installed.

what is the belt # you have installed (generic)? Yes, there are problems with using generic belts on Hoover Vacuums. If you have noise I would suspect the roller, and replace it. the cost is about $25 and is something that you can install. The newer type are mande of wood and are very quiet.

Hoover windtunnel

Put the V belt on the pulley first, then the flat belt, put it over the motor shaft or pulley, then you have to stretch it to go over the pulley next to the V belt pulley.
