Check to see if the installed cartridge is the correct one for the printer. If the cartridge is the proper part number, remove the ink cartridge and make sure all the packaging tape has been removed from the copper circuitry strip on the backside of the cartridge. Reinsert the cartridge and try printing again.
If the error continues, remove the cartridge again and clean the copper circuitry strip on the backside of the cartridge, and the contacts inside the printer, by following the instructions below:
1. Use a clean, dry, soft, lint-free cloth. Locate the copper-colored circuitry strip on the back of the cartridge.
2. Wipe the copper-colored strip with the dry cloth. Use an upward motion, from the nozzle end to the top of the cartridge. Do not wipe the nozzle end of the cartridge or touch the nozzle plate. Wipe the contacts only once.
3. To clean the printer contacts, carefully look for fibers or contamination on the electrical contacts inside the carriage assembly, but do not wipe the printer contacts with any object. The contacts in the printer can be damaged if too much pressure is applied during a wiping process. Try to remove any visible attached debris within the carriage assembly by gently pulling the debris off with your fingers. If the carriage contacts show noticeable damage, contact the Customer Care Center listed in the printer's User's Guide.
Reinsert the cartridge and try printing again. If the error continues, the cartridge may need to be replaced.

Have a good day.

My color cartridge has been filled and placed back into the printer and the light is still flashing with "remove and check the color cartridge" I have followed all steps to clean and re-install...

You need to bypass the out of ink message. If you have a parallel port, you can turn off the "bidirectional support" in the printer section of the control panel

Or you screwed yourself by waiting too long
The ink acts as a coolant for the cartridge. If you waited too long to fill it and burned it up, you will destroy the TSR (thermal sense resistor) and the cartridge is toast.

Message to remove and check color cartridge. When I do it states that the cartridge is missing. Once replaced ... it provides the same message to remove and check.

This occurs when your cartridge develops incompatibility. The permanent solution is to replace the cartridge.  However you may want to clean (with tissue soaked in methylated spirit) the electronic panel of the cartridge to see if this resolves the issue. The electronic panel is the panel with copper dots that makes contact with the cartridge holder.

My HP PSC 1610v keeps saying 'remove and realign color cartridge' even tho I've put in a new cartridge.

Is it a genuine HP?

If yes then there is a fault with the actual cartridge. Check you have removed the tape from the ink outlet if its still on it will cause theis error. If all appears right, try another GENUINE cartridge and claim the faulty one

Color cartridge wont print

The color cartridge is defective. Sometimes, when the printer detects a refilled cartridge, it "marks" the cartridge as defective hence the refilled cartridge will not work on any printer.

HP PSC 750 PROBLEM

Had the same problem. Cleaned the copper-colored "contacts" on the actual printer. Where the printer and the cartridge touch ... you will see them when you take the cartridge out. Hope that helps.

Problem with ink cartridge

There is something broke with the piece that keeps it in place. You need to take it out and look real close to how it works. Look at how the color works and compare the two.
