Question about HP PSC 1610v All-in-One Printer

1 Answer

Problem with ink cartridge

I have a HP PSC 1610v. When I last went to change ink cartridges the black cartridge would not stay locked in to its place so I can't print. I have tried looking for paper jams (I keep getting an error message stating I have one) but haven't found any. I have cleaned what I could get to inside the printer but still can't get the one cartridge to stay locked into place. Btw, it's not the cartridge because the old one won't lock back in either. They click into place then loosely drop back out. Thanks.

There is something broke with the piece that keeps it in place. You need to take it out and look real close to how it works. Look at how the color works and compare the two.

My color cartridge has been filled and placed back into the printer and the light is still flashing with "remove and check the color cartridge" I have followed all steps to clean and re-install...

You need to bypass the out of ink message. If you have a parallel port, you can turn off the "bidirectional support" in the printer section of the control panel

Or you screwed yourself by waiting too long
The ink acts as a coolant for the cartridge. If you waited too long to fill it and burned it up, you will destroy the TSR (thermal sense resistor) and the cartridge is toast.

My HP PSC 1610v keeps saying 'remove and realign color cartridge' even tho I've put in a new cartridge.

Is it a genuine HP?

If yes then there is a fault with the actual cartridge. Check you have removed the tape from the ink outlet if its still on it will cause theis error. If all appears right, try another GENUINE cartridge and claim the faulty one

HP 1610, Remove Cartridge message

also replace the colour cartridge as it is not showing but the printer is not able to detect that cartridge also.many a times it solves the problem.

Ink Cartridge

There can be problems with the cartridge itself...check the cartridge number with the original cartridge (ex :- 27)...

You can try
# wipe the cartridge circuit board with a dry cloth (can have dirt)

HP 1610v all in one printer

Hi, I had the same problem. I extracted both cartridges (colour and black), I cleaned both with alcohol and q-tips, I also cleaned in the same way the golden conections of the machine. Reinstalled and works (solved in only 5 minutes).

Important: This problem appeared when I was using the copy function in black and white, not in colour. Thats why I decided to clean BOTH cartridges (the colour one was very clean and black cartridge was the really dirty one).

Don´t ask me why, but it worked. Try cleaning both cartridges.

Hope it would be useful and I appologyze for my english (is not as good as I would like)

If you lift the front center of your printer, you will be able to see where the ink cartridge is located.
