Did you format them in the camera (recommended) or in the computer (not recommended)?

SD Card Problems with Vivitar Vivicam 5118!

What size is the memory card. If it's larger than 4GB then it won't work in the 5118.
Try using another card. Don't format it in your computer but do format it in the camera before trying to take pictures.

The camera keeps saying "Memory

It's not the camera. I hope you have the original card if not no matter. I'm including a diagram that shows a locking switch on an SD card the black arrow points to the little switch in the unlock position. Now something else you will need to format the memory card to make it compatible to your camera. This function is in "set up" and you need to use the arrow keys to navigate to that function. Format the card and everyone will be happy again. Another thing each time you download pictures to your computer you need to format the memory card. What I expect you are doing or have been doing is deleting the pictures. This works but eventually it leaves the card full of holes and dirty and the camera can no longer write to it. I full expect that if you still have the original SD car that you can format it as well and it will work again. Now saying that because it's so dirty (with old deleted information not actual dirt) you may need to format that card a few times (maybe twice). This will solve your problem

Can no longer copy from internal to memory card. Keeps saying "Memory card requires formatting." When I choose "continue" the camera tries formatting then goes back to the original screen saying "Memory...

In the manual, page 21 & 21 describe how to use the camera to format your choice of either the memory card OR the internal memory. If you format the internal memory, images stored there will be lost.

Once you format in the camera, you should be able to use the card if it is no larger than 2GB. It appears the camera does not support cards greater than 2GB.

My kodak easysharecamera keeps saying the memory card needs to be

I'm having the exact same problem! I have formatted 2 SD cards on the computer and it still didn't work. Every time I've tried formatting on the camera, it says it is and then says again that it needs to be formatted. I even went out and bought a whole new Kodak SD card, thinking I just needed a Kodak one, but no luck.
I can't help, but I was just wondering if you ever got the problem solved because I really would like to know.

Keeps saying card not initialized why ?

It just means that you need to format a new card in the camera before it will work properly. Go into the menu and find "format"...follow the on-screen instructions.

Kodak dc290 digital camera keeps giving formatting failed error

Try cleaning the contacts on the memory card(usually sraping them lightly with a knife helps with contact) and if that doesn't work try formatting the card in your computer.
