I'm having the exact same problem! I have formatted 2 SD cards on the computer and it still didn't work. Every time I've tried formatting on the camera, it says it is and then says again that it needs to be formatted. I even went out and bought a whole new Kodak SD card, thinking I just needed a Kodak one, but no luck.
I can't help, but I was just wondering if you ever got the problem solved because I really would like to know.

Everytime i put SDHC memory card in camera it shuts off... canon m1093 is

I've run into this problem with off brand or damaged SDHD memory cards. I just had another SD card go bad on me tonight. It happens. Sometimes they can become corrupted, and need to be low level formatted, and then sometimes formatted by the camera again before use.
Check out the SDHD card in something else, if you can. If it appears just fine there, then it may just be incompatible with the Kodak camera.
Try another SDHD card to see if it operates properly, which will most likely resolve the issue for you.

Camera is a C330. I've tried several sizes of memory cards but the same message keeps coming up saying the Memory Card is Full. I've ttried reformatting the card via the camera but I keep getting...

Hello. There is a setting on C330 which you can change in order to use only internal memory. This needs to be changed back to the default.

All you have to do is to turn on the camera then go to Menu -> Setup Menu -> Format -> Internal Memory -> Ok.

I hope this will help!

This error message means that the card is corrupted or formatted for another digital camera. Turn off the camera. Insert a new card or format the card.

2. insert the card and do the "format" thing again from the menu as you just did for the internal memory.

Never format a camera card in the computer...it's a different operating system. Always format a new card in the camera. Just go into the menu and find "format"...follow the on-screen instructions.

I have replaced the battery and memory card, the camera keeps saying I need to format the card, but then it says it is formatting, then gives another message saying the card needs to be formatted....

If the memory card replacement is an SDHC model card the Kodak z740 will not work with it. The memory card has to be a standard SD card of 2 gig size or less to properly function. Take card out and turn on camera. See if you get same error. You should get missing card error but otherwise be able to operate camera controls such as zoom, flash, etc. If that is fine find old card you used and place back in camera... or purchase a standard SD card from Walmart for 10 dollars

Can not format memory card

I had that problem too back in the day and the camera wouldn't format the card. I believe it's an early sign of the camera on it's last legs of life.

Just plug the card into your computer and do it that way... Also double check that your memory card isn't set on the lock position that could be making the memory card a read only card at the moment

Kodak dc290 digital camera keeps giving formatting failed error

Try cleaning the contacts on the memory card(usually sraping them lightly with a knife helps with contact) and if that doesn't work try formatting the card in your computer.
