The commom problem is universal remotes generally only deal with mainstream brands and minority brands are quite often not supported unless the device manufacturer has used a mainstream manufacturers microprocessor and IR code set. Hi, it could be worth your while to take the remote to a repair organisation as there is not a lot that that can go wrong with a remote. Failures I have seen involve mucky boards & rubber Pads - real common(general wear & tear - Clean the board/pad with isopropyl alcohol/surgical methlyated spirits), IR led fails and ceramic resonator fails (both these need oscilloscope for testing).



A quick test to establish whether the remote is even operational is to view the IR LED with the camera on your phone while pressing buttons.
