If memory serves the San disk can operate in "hard drive" mode, if you go through the menus one of the options is how the usb connects, change that back and forth and see how your computer reads it.
I know one way only works with Microsoft Media Player and the other option is to be like a hard drive

I have a MAC and it will recognise the sandisk m240 mp3 player. When you look under the finder tab it is there. But when I try to download songs from i tunes it won't work. Any ideas?

Hello,

Tranferring songs from iTunes to the m240 needs to be done in mp3 format. iTunes music in aac format should be converted to mp3.

Putting files in the mp3 format:
1. Using iTunes 7:

2. using iTunes 8:
http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1129

On next site follow the steps how to download mp3 files in iTunes proceeding from step 1:

I formatted a sandisk sansa with a mac and it formatted everything even the os on it so how do i put it back?????

Hello,
Here's a page showing links how to reconnect the player to the MAC Operating System and how to use iTunes for the e200 series:
http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/229/kw/mac/p/555%2C618/r_id/101834

When the firmware on the player has been erased, a download and reinstallation of the firmware has to be performed.

The Sansa Firmware Updater can only be used on Windows based systems: So get the firmware directly from this site : http://forums.sandisk.com/sansa/board?board.id=e200
Check the version of your player to get the matching download.

e.g. selecting e200 v2 there's one download for America; 2 downloads for Europe, one without FM (radio) and one with FM.
Read the instructions on the sandisk forums site for the players recovery.

The cd with the sandisk sansa shaker mp3 player is not working.

Go to Sandisk's website and get a clean version of the software - the player will not work properly without it.

I cant get my mp3 player to work on my mac book

Hello ROBRICH28,

There are at two ways to have this resolved, one may sound a bit extreme. If you can it may help to dual boot your mac with a windows operating system as the Sansu units do not have native Mac support.

Otherwise Sandisk has a forum set up for their customers to assist with technical problems. You should be able to find a solution if you search for "Mac" at http://forums.sandisk.com/sansa/

I hope this helps

Can't get installation disc to work on new macbook

The installation disk works only with PCs. The Mac is not supported by Sandisk. The e280 will work with some Macs though and only in the MSC mode. My e280v1 works with my Powerbook and my e280v2 works with my wife's I-Book. Both are running OS 10.4.11
