You need to take the files off the flash drive, put them on your computer, have iTunes find them and use iTunes to sync the ipod with the music files.

Itunes on my laptop will not sync to my ipod and has wiped all my music from ipod.

First of all when you sync your ipod with another computer all of your songs, videos and etc will erase by itunes application.Example the first sync was on your desktop using itunes and it was successfully transferred the songs and videos. But you want to add songs from your laptop, so copy the songs to your usb flash drive or external hard drive then paste it to your desktop computer. Then plug your ipod to your desktop computer and run the itunes application then add songs you want to transfer,by syncing or copying the song to your ipod your old songs will not be erase. Have a nice day

I have 167 songs downloaded, but i have no idea to get them on my ipod shuffle. my ipod is plugged in and itunes and frostwire are downloaded along with my songs, how do i get them on my ipod?

Downloading songs onto an iPod, a process called syncing, is the main way to transfer music from your iTunes library to your iPod (it's also how you add other content - video, podcasts, photos, etc. - to your iPod).
It's also a simple process that, after you've done once, you'll hardly need to think about again.
Open iTunes, Go into Preferences in iTunes edit and select the General tab, put a check mark in music. Plug in your iPod and it should sync.

Frostwire may interfere with the iTunes sync process.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response. Happy Holidays!

Thanks, Joe

I download songs at a friends house on the ipod but how do i put them in my library at home

You can't ... your player is synced with your friends library and you can not syn it with your itunes. When you do it will notify you that this player is synced to another library do you want to erase and sync. There are however programs available that can bypass this procedure and allow you to move those songs onto your pc which you can then add them to your library. One the comes to mind is Imtoo products, but there are more out there than this. I think the software runs around 30-40 bucks. hope this helps

Deleting files

HI,  Ipods don't work like normal flash drives.  They can only work by syncing them.  You cannot find or delete the songs from the ipod or from the drive that it appears in.  To remove a song from your ipod you need to go into itunes, and locate the playlist which is being synced to your ipod.  Then find the song and remove it from the playlist.  Then you need to plug in your ipod and press sync again.  Hope this helps

How to delete music off of the ipod shuffle?

You can either do a restore:
Connect to your computer and open itunes.
When you first open itunes you should be in "Devices"
Make sure you're in the "Summary" tab and you will have a button that says "Restore"
Click that and it will do the rest.

Or
Sync with an itunes library that has no files on it, this will also remove the files from your ipod.

Changed pc and new pc cannot work with ipod

You can download a developers version, not the final product of Songbird. It works just like itunes, but less problematic. It will allow you to "mount" the ipod as a disk, then you can save, the songs to your PC. It will ask you if you want to sync with it, just say no and you will be able to view the contents. I didnt make Songbird, I have just used it recently for the same problem. Best of Luck.
