Problems downloading and syncing ipod to pc after syncing to a mac

I first synced my ipod to a friends MAC. I have a PC and cannot get my pc to recognize it when I put it into a USB port. It did once cause it erased 90% of my songs while charging. If I delete itunes and reinstall it from a free download will I lose all my songs on my playlist/Library?

Answer: Once you sync your iPod to this iTunes 9.0, of course the iTunes 9.0 playlist will sync your iPod, but all the old music on your iPod will be deleted after the syncing. If you want to sync the iPod without deleting the old music, you should get some transfer tool.

IPod Touch-1.1.4 (8gb) can you tell me the procedure for up-grade/sync (?) for my iPod ? ......Thank you. Frederick Harris ([email protected])

iPods can be upgraded or synced by using iTunes. If you have a Mac, this is a relatively easy process; with Windows, you will have to first download iTunes. If you don't have a computer, you could always upgrade or sync through a computer that has admin access from a trusted friend.

Forgot my code to unlick my ipod

Hi friend, Don't worry.. It is easy to solve your problem. Just follow these steps..
  1. Plug the iPod USB cable into the bottom of your iPod Nano. Plug the other end of the USB cable into a free USB port on your Mac or PC computer. Open the iTunes program by using the Dock on a Mac or the Start menu on a PC. if you don't have itunes software, get it from here.
  • Select your iPod Nano from the "Devices" list in the main iTunes window. Click on the "Sync" button to make a connection between your computer and your iPod Nano.
  • Click on the "Eject" symbol once the syncing process is complete. Remove your iPod Nano from the USB cable. The iPod's lock code will now be reset and you will be able to access all features again.
  • Navigate to the "Screen Lock" option in the iPod menu to lock your iPod's screen again. Since your iPod's lock code was just reset, you will be prompted to select a new four-digit code

Starting up with anew ipod touch

To use iPod touch, you need:
  1. A Mac or a PC with a USB 2.0 port and one of the following operating systems:
  • Mac OS X version 10.4.10 or later
  • Windows XP Home or Professional with Service Pack 2 or later, Windows Vista Home Premium, Business, Enterprise, or Ultimate edition.
  • iTunes 7.6 or later, available at www.apple.com/itunes
  • iTunes Store account (to purchase music over Wi-Fi)
  • An Internet connection
Before you can use any of the iPod touch features, you must use iTunes to set up iPod touch. You can also register iPod touch and create an iTunes Store account.
  1. Download and install the latest version of iTunes from www.apple.com/itunes.
  2. Connect iPod touch to a USB 2.0 port on your Mac or PC using the included cable. The USB port on most keyboards doesn’t provide enough power. Unless your keyboard has a high-powered USB 2.0 port, you must connect iPod touch to a USB 2.0 port on
    your computer
  3. Follow the onscreen instructions in iTunes to set up iPod touch and sync your music, video, photos, and other content. Your computer must be connected to the Internet. By default, iTunes automatically syncs all songs and videos in your iTunes library to
iPod touch. If you have more content in your library than will fit on iPod touch, iTunes alerts you that it can’t sync your content. You’ll need to use iTunes to select some of your songs, videos, and other content to sync.
When you get back to France, you'll need sync it with your PC. Download the latest version of iTunes then sync your iPod with your computer.

IPod MAC to Windows

You have to mannualy set all the parametes after connecting to iTunes to mannually managed mode. I mean turn off automatic sync n stuff.
But as soon as u connect the iPod to the windows pc if u get a msg saying that u need to sync newly or format, in that case i am sorry u cant get back ur songs, it will be deleted. the reason for this is when u connect ur ipod to iTunes in the summary tab u will have to uncheck certain features which it shows like the automatic sync n stuff. You will have to check the manually managed box.

Thankyou
