Recently had a catastrophic failure of old laptop that my daughters ipod was synced with, now have downloaded itunes onto new laptop but it says that the ipod is synced with another computer and will erase all songs off the ipod to sync it with the new laptop. how do i either backup the exiting songs off the ipod to import them back onto the newly synced ipod or can i get the itunes working with the ipod without having to erase the songs off it. Thanks in advance
You can download a developers version, not the final product of Songbird. It works just like itunes, but less problematic. It will allow you to "mount" the ipod as a disk, then you can save, the songs to your PC. It will ask you if you want to sync with it, just say no and you will be able to view the contents. I didnt make Songbird, I have just used it recently for the same problem. Best of Luck.
