you will have to either erase and backup your ipod or you will have to go into recovery mode.
power off and then as you're plugging into your computer hold the home button down until you see the itunes screen. Itunes should alert you that it detects a device in recovery mode. click ok and then restore.

you might not have any memory left on your iPod. I have to same problem with mine some times I have to go and delete some stuff and then I starts to work again. so try deleting some stuff like pictures you don't like or some music you don't listen to anymore

Your ipod touch is on shuffle. To take your shuffle off there should be a shuffle button at the bottom , by your music list.

Ipods tend to glitch out when too much memory is being used. Try deleting some things you don't need and see if that helps.

*My ipod does this as well. Sometimes it can just be certain apps.

Try using a very fine cloth to get into the headphones port and the charging port. If all else fails, you will probably have to take it into the Apple Store :D
