My old printer kept saying out of paper even when it had paper. It was an HP all in one officejet 4315. So I bought a new printer HP deskjet F4480 and it is doing the same thing. Have rstarted computer, have unplugged printer for 30 seconds, have replaced ubs cable. It did print one thing that was in the queue when computer restarted and then went back to out of paper message.

If you are sure that there is no piece of paper somewhere in the printer paper path, then please look for any tiny pawl (paper sensor) and try to shake it because maybe when you remove the paper, this sensor is staked in position. Other options are damaged paper sensor or controller board. Good luck pifonski
Try making the other printer offline when ever not in use. Their could be reason this is clash of installed files or else try uninstall of D2500 printer drivers & installing with updated drivers that can be downloaded from support.hp.com.
I replaced both cartriges bought at cartrige world. Screen on printer says: "Cartridge Error". I reinstalled both cartridges and still get "cartridge error". I don't have a owners manual, Help!
Good day, To print from software application (windows) follow the procedure below.(for hp officejet 4315).
1. Make sure you have paper im the input tray. 2. On the File menu in your software application. click Print. 3. Make sure the HP officejet 2315 all in one is the selected printer. 4. If you need to change settings. click the button that opens the Properties dialog box. Depending on your software application, this button might be called Properties, Options, Printer Setup, Printer, of Preferences. 5. select the appropriate options for your print job by using the features available in the Advanced, Paper/Quality, Effects, Finishing, and COLOR tabs. 6. Click OK to close the Properties dialog box. 7. Click Print or OK to begin printing.
Each printer has a sensor that determines when there is no paper, on cheaper printers like deskjets it tries to feed the paper and when it fials it gives this error. The feeder for the printer is most likley bad, replcaement is the most cost effective solution , repairing it would be more then a new unit.
