Does this happen when you print!! Not copy. If it does when you print might check the transfer roller and or transfer & sep assemble across from the drum. If printing is OK then clean the glass on/inside the doc feeder you will see it follow the paper thur the doc feeder
The red light that looks like an empty cylinder on the Sharp AL 1631 Grayscale Copier panel is the "drum replacement required" indicator. The "cartridge replacement" indicator is represented by 6 dots forming a triangular shape.
The drum replacement indicator lights up when there are about 1000 copies left until its end of life. It is only when the indicator starts blinking that the drum really needs replacement.
The part number for the drum is AL-100DR.

That must be the drum cartridge symbol anyway do this; Press C, Exposure, C , Exposure in that sequence.The display will go out. Enter 24 press print 07 print. Then press C twice and you are done.
