Hi,
If you yourself have replace it, I think you damage the upper LCD ribbon connector.
I have repaired a lot of DS, a broken hinge usually the cause of that problem( ribbon connector cut off ).
Check the upper LCD if that model have a seperate ribbon connector, luckily you could buy the ribbon only, if not, BAD LUCK, you have to buy a new upper LCD.
Hope that helps you out.
Thanks for asking FixYa!
much of it is pretty straight forward, the only hard part is putting the ribbon cable thru the hinge for the top screen, without ripping it, best thing to say is put the ribbon cable in first, then the wifi and mic cables (black and white), rest is pretty straightforward.
Yes, this can be fixed. You will need to replace the top LCD screen of the NDS, as the cable attaches directly to it. The speakers will need to be soldered to the new top LCD screen, as the top replacement screens usually do not come with speakers attached to it.
Well, looking at the diagnosis there are two possible problems. Youcould have both, or just one. Here they are and the solution.
1. Blown F2 fuse. The F1 and 2 fuses get blown most often. Between the two, it is the F2 if the system charges. Here is a websitethat will teach you how to solder it back together. This site has oldand new DS systems on it. Before you solder make sure to check that itis broken with a multimeter. http://www.m3wiki.com/index.php?title=Nintendo_DS_Lite_:_Repair_a_broken_console_(blown_fuse)
2.Misconnected Ribbons. The easier, and more common problem is that acable isn't in all the way, or it is crooked. You should just check allyour ribbons, and double check them. Take them out, put them in again, make sure all the fixings (little black things that hold the littleribbons) are in, and the snaps are snapped. If you have lost a fixing, just post and say that and I will tell you how to MAKE a new one.
If the system was working fine before with the corrosion, I don't believe it would affect it after.
This works for me, so good luck. Remember to post if you have any more questions.

The cable for the touchscreen is one with 4 conductors that connect directly to the overlay on the face of the LCD. The flat ribbon connector on the main board is quite delicate. The three connectors for the bottom screen are on the right side of the component side of the DS phat board. The touchscreen is labeled P6. On the DS Lite, the connector is closer to the R button.
Well something more appropriate i guess would be my ongoing issue with DS's that have had screens replaced.
if you could describe something for me
as the unit will not power ,,, plug in the charger, if it is as i suspect you will get an orange light illuminate for 1 second, after it goes off the unit is unresponsive until you unplug and replug the charger.
if this describes your problem i would be most interested to hear weather you used the ORIGINAL screen or if it is a replacement screen
