It is the wrong speed ram for the other motherboard for instance 133 sdram, 100 sd ram, pc2700 ddr ram, pc3200 ddr ram etc. you will have to see what type of ram is acceptable in your new board.

SOURCE: Intel 845 glly board please solve the problem

Hi Nadeem Nawaz,

No board will show display without memory. Your motherboard must run memory type;
Two DIMM sockets supporting 3.3 V (only) 168-pin 133 MHz Single Data Rate (SDR) SDRAM DIMMs with gold-plated contacts.
Unbuffered non-ECC DIMMs only.
Maximum total system memory: 2 GB; minimum total system memory: 64 MB.
Serial Presence Detect (SPD) DIMMs only.

Intel link showing memory specifications.
Intel Desktop Board D845GLLY
http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/d845glly/sb/cs-012825.htm

If your memory is within Intel's memory specifications & you are not getting display on your monitor. It is possible that the integerated on board graphics (Shown on page 13 in your user manual), may be defective.
You can add a PCI video card to the PC. The Intel D845GLLY will auto detect the PCI video card. No need to enter the bios & make changes.
Please keep this in mind. The integrated video card is PCI, if it has failed, there is a good chance it will not see the PCI add in video card. If you can find a used (Working) PCI video card to test in the PC.

Bip long no start up

there maybe a problem with RAM, try to release the RAM, clean the pin with rubber if its dirty, then place it again in the socket. Bip long no start up can be sign that your RAM not correctly installed or its already damaged.

hope this useful, regard riyan.

Intel 845 chipset MB of Kobian make

try ramsticks individually (one at a time) in each of the memory banks until you get a post on the screen. if you don't get a post, then the memory might be parity and the board needs non-parity ***or vice versa***. Also, find the jumper on the motherboard for a bios reset, and reset the bios, then perform the previously stated memory tests.

Msi 478 socket mother board

to: pubudu,
you said that your ram is ok, but i think it's the ram which is your problem because of memory dumping with color blue. yes your ramis ok but the reason why not ok is because the latency is not compatible with your settings in bios
