I have a Toshiba Theraterview, out of the blue, it tripped my circuit breaker. I could not reset it while the TV was plugged in. Upon unplugging the TV I could reset my breaker but as soon as I plug in the TV it sparks at the outlet and again trips the breaker?

Fisher & Pykel RF610A sporadically tripping house circuit breaker.

It may be the power circuit breaker. I had a similar problem with my oven and it turned out to be a loose connection to the breaker. Try plugging the fridge in to another power outlet.

If the circuit breaker as tripped ,how do I get it to untripp it

If the fault that caused the breaker to trip still exists, it will not reset. Unplug any devices from the circuit in question and reset the breaker. Then plug in items one at a time until you find the device that is causing the breaker to trip. Then fix or replace. You may also have a bad breaker that needs to be replaced if it will not reset even with all devices off the circuit.

Tv when plugged in trips main fuse box

If there is a short circuit inside the TV, the fuse should normally blow first before tripping your breaker. The only exception is if you have a short in the ac cord or the line filter of the TV set. Have you tried the tv on another circuit to see if it trips that breaker? If not, it could be that your first circuit is close to an overload and the TV is simply pushing the circuit "over the edge".

LAst night we lost two rooms completely light and outlets. we try the reset the breaker nothing would come on. This morning we unplug everything turned on the breaker, and plug everything back in...

1) A circuit breaker will not reset if breaker is hot, or if there is a short to ground.

2) Hot breaker: If circuit is pulling more amps than the breaker rating, or if breaker is loose on the busbar, then breaker gets hot, and trips.
3) Volts x amps = watts. Add up wattage of everything on breaker and divide by 120Volts and that gives you amps.
If your breaker is 15 amps, the SAFE maximum is 80% or 12 amps.

4) If breaker is loose, you can smell burning and hear crackling sound. Jiggle the breaker around and listen for crackling.

5) If there was a short somewhere on the breaker circuit, the breaker will trip.
When you unpluged each device and then the breaker was reset, then that says problem is probably NOT the wiring or breaker.
The problem was probably inside one of the devices that was plugged in.

6) If breaker trips again, unplug each device one at a time, and then try to reset breaker after each unplug to see if you can isolate suspected device.

Need to reset circuit breaker

Hi,

  • 1 Turn off the light switches and unplug appliances in the room that has lost power.
  • 2 Find your circuit breaker box and open the cover.
  • 3 Locate the tripped breaker. Circuit breakers are small, usually horizontal switches labeled by the areas of the house they serve (for example, "kitchen," "bathroom" and so on). The tripped circuit breaker will be in the "off" position or in a middle position between "on" and "off."
  • 4 Reset the breaker by moving it to the full "off" position and then back to "on." That may clear an overload and return power to the room. If the breaker re-trips, you may have too many lamps and appliances plugged into the circuit; a damaged cord or plug; a short circuit in a receptacle, switch or fixture; or faulty wiring.
  • 5 Identify and correct the malfunction before resetting the breaker.

  • Please post your feedback and Vote if the problem resolved as per your satisfaction.

Picture color is off after circuit breaker tripped. Only blues and greens. Model SONY KDS - R60XBR2. Does the lamp do this when it needs replacing or could something else have blown when the breaker...

Sony TVs has an Optical Block issue. If there is an issue with the optical block, then there will be green, blue patches or tint on the TV display. Try resetting the TV to the factory settings and try Power resetting the TV. Turn Off the TV and remove the power plug from the wall outlet for 1 minute and reconnect it and check the operation. If the issue still persists, then TV may require service. You can contact the Customer relations team and check for the available options. Sony had repaired free of cost for such issues. Hence, contact the customer relations.

I have a 15 amp single pole circuit breaker that

It could be either or at this point. First thing to do, is unplug all electric devices from the plugs on that circuit, and then attempt to reset the breaker. If it does not trip, one of the devices plugged into a receptacle on that circuit could have a short. If it doesn't trip, plug each device in one at a time to see it it trips the breaker to pin point what is causing the short. If the above has no effect, I recommend replacing the breaker. It is easy and inexpensive to do. Just make sure you main is shut off before doing any work on the panel. I hope this helps and good luck!
