Hm, that doesn't really help me, I was hoping someone would be able to let me know where I can take it to get fixed.

  • Anonymous Feb 08, 2010

I'm in Subiaco on Rupert by Bagot / Hamersly. I contacted Hitachi, too.

I don't think the TV is under warranty so I'm hoping it's just a blown fuse.

Hm, actually I don't have the UK power cord I just bought one that I thought would fit and plugged it in. Perhaps I need to get a replacement cord? Where would I get one?

Hi.

The best thing to do is contacting Hitachi support in your region, and getting the TV repaired by the manufacturer.

If the TV had not been damaged or smashed, but is simply faulty, then you can use the form below to ask the phone of the nearest Hitachi authorized service.

Here global contact form: Contact Us : Hitachi Global

A better choice could be opening your local website from http://www.hitachi.com/, and finding Contact Us page with their phone number.

If the problem is a fault, and the damage had not been caused by user (eg. smashing), then the TV will be repaired by manufacturer within one year from purchase, under the international warranty terms.

Regards.

I need to know your location.

I will find the nearest service.

The only blown fuse is located inside the power cord plug, if you have the UK one. In that case check the tiny slot on the connector.

If that is not the problem, then there is a fault , in the best case the PSU or the inverter board. Rarely a stupid problem as a connector (considering it has been shipped , this is still possible).

I am a repairer, and I am not guessing. Check the power cord first, and replace the fuse, I will look for a service in your area.

Hitachi ltd tv plasma the other nigh it went black and the blue power light flashing over and over

Hitachi 42" plasma TV all of a sudden death. Power failure, no lights on the front panels. No signs of life.

Found solution through my very honest repairman called Johnny's TV Repair in Hollywood:

There is a kill switch to protect against power surges. Located under the bottom edge nest to where the cable goes in the body, all you have to do is press it back in and voila; LET THERE BE LIGHT and probably save yourself a min $200 trip to the repair shop. Of all the places my friend called non mentioned this switch so next time you have TV problem and can't fix yourself go to this guy if you're in Los Angeles. No power

Power outlet or the TV's power supply is probably dead. If it is the power supply, which I think it is, whether or not it's under warranty, you would probably have to either ship it out to have them fix it, get the parts that you need so you or somebody else can install it in or find an authorized manufacturer's repair depot do all that work for you.
Good idea to get a good power surge protector as well next time around.

Hitachi tv

Travel and shipping aside, the only problem you would face is the power. European devices run on 220-240 volts at 50 hertz. By contrast, North America uses 110-120 volts at 60 hertz. Check the rating on the televisions back panel and verify it can work in this voltage range (many can work in both).

Another simple annoyance is that the analog tuner (for cable TV etc) has different frequencies and framerates altogether. While digital video will still work fine, tuning into cable or composite video may or may not work correctly.

No power to my Hitachi 42hdm12

Hi, If even trying the TV in another known good outlet, it still doesn't work, do a hard/full reset - turned off via master power or unplug for a couple of hours. If all else fails, maybe you should seek the services of a qualified professional since this involves opening the unit, circuitry diagnosing and board/component repair/replacement. Hope this be of some help/idea.Post back how things are or should you need further information. Good luck and kind regards.
