Back up lights on 2000 corvette won't work.

They light up when unlocking doors with key fob. I changed the relay in fuse box and tested the switch on the 6 speed transmission.

Go to the Brake Light Switch located on the rear side of the Brake Pedal Arm.
Test this Switch by pushing the plunger in and check to see if you have Brake Lights. If you do have brake lights then the switch is good. Most of these plungers can be adjusted out or in to make a good connection. with the Brake Pedal Arm to activate the brakes.
If you do not have brake lights when you depress the plunger:
Remove the switch from the support arm.
Disconnect the electrical connection.
Check for Voltage.
If you have Voltage: replace the Switch.
If you do not have Voltage then recheck the Fuses and Relays.
Let me know if this worked or if you have additional information or questions. Feel free to contact me at FixYa.com!

On the Corvette this switch is pretty high-up on the Brake Pedal Arm and difficult to reach. Once you reach it, turn it 1/3rd to 1/4th turn, releasing it from the mounting bracket.

How do I disable the keyless entry so it cannot be used on my 05 navigator.

Fuse 20 (30 amp), passenger compartment fuse panel. See owners manual.

Remove and it will make all power locks and hatch inoperable (electrically) and you will be required to manually lock/unlock all doors and use a key to unlock the drivers door to gain entry into a locked vehicle. The hatch will not operate as it is not mechanical release as are the doors.

If you want only to disable the key pad, you will need to disconnect the pad from the smart junction box... not a task for the average owner. It may also cause a CEL/MIL indication.

If you want to test removing fuse 20, roll down the windows prior so you have access if key entry somehow fails.

You could wire a switch (30 Amp) into the fuse 20 circuit and have a selectable on/off so you have hatch release or all functions when wanted.

Are the door locks and multiple other things on the same relay?

There was a related post in 2011 which may or may not help you troubleshoot .... from a Lincoln Master:
What is the fuse box number for locks 2003 Lincoln Navigator

If your fuse box is the same as this one ... then fuse #30 is the door locks ... plus other things. If your fuse is good (although I would test a new fuse in that slot to be sure) or if in inoperable stuff is different ... then you have some other issue going on

Did you program the new key fob ?

Remote Transmitter Programming NOTE: All remote transmitters are programmable and must be set at the same time.
  1. Turn the key from OFF to RUN four times within three seconds, ending in RUN. The locks will then lock and unlock, confirming program mode has been entered.
  1. Press any button on each remote transmitter to be programmed. The doors will lock and unlock to confirm that each remote transmitter has been programmed.
  1. If additonal remote transmitters are to be programmed, repeat Step 3 within 7.5 seconds or steps 2 and 3 if more than 7.5 seconds have elapsed.
  1. To exit program mode, turn the ignition to START or wait 7.5 seconds.
  1. NOTE: Failure to wait at least 20 seconds will cause programming failures. Wait at least 20 seconds after turning the key to OFF or after the last remote transmitter has been programmed to activate a remote transmitter for testing or verification

Bypass the theft deterrent module

The security light is a indicator that one of the parts of the antitheft system is failing, this then disables parts of the car due to the antitheft thinking that the car is being stolen. You may have broken something while turning the ignition when trying to learn your key fob. Did you make sure to pull the radio fuse before trying the key fob process? A lot of GM's 2000 to 2004ish ran the antitheft thru the radio. Its really hard to tell. Here is a link that explains the anti theft system. A lot of information and some ways to get around the system.

Here is what i found for reprogramming your key fob remote

1. Be sure ignition is OFF.

2. Remove RADIO fuse from fuse box. Fuse will be number 17 and located at LH side of instrument panel.

3. Turn ignition from OFF to RUN 3 times within 5 seconds ending in the RUN position. Off is the position where you can remove your key and Run is the position shy of starting your vehicle (do not crank engine or start vehicle). Be sure you are turning the key from off to run quickly.

4. Doors will Lock and Unlock indicating entry into programming mode.

5. Hold Lock and Unlock at the same time on first remote for approximately 15 seconds. Vehicle will respond by locking and unlocking doors indicating successful programming.

6. Repeat step 5 for each additional remote including working remotes.

7. Switch ignition off. Replace RADIO fuse. Test all remotes.

2002 HYUNDAI SONATA. KEY FOBS WILL UNLOCK ALL

Replace the "lock" relay, found behind the fuse box. You have to stick your head where the gas pedal is, and look at the top end of the back of the fuse panel. There are 2 small square plastic boxes. Unplug them, spray them with electrical cleaning spray, and switch their spots. If everything works, there was some contact problem, if door will now lock but not unlock, one of the relays is bad. Part number "HMC DECO 95225 - 38300".

Key fob won't unlock or lock car VW Golf 2000

You probably caused a short circuit when you changed the light. Change fuse #14. Next time, don't turn the lights on until you are finished changing the lights.
