Service Active Handling, ABS and Traction Control Lights on

I have a 2000 Chevrolet Corvette and the Service Active Handling, ABS and Traction Control lights come on and read in the information bar. No noticiable changes occur while driving. Any thoughts?

2000 corvette ABS and traction lights will not go out, is there away to disconnect the lights so they do not stay lit up on the dashboard all the time, perhaps by disconnecting a fuse??

I have had exactly the same problem on and off for 3 years now - and just solved it last week thanks to another computer site. Remove and disassemble both grounds from the top of both the left and right frame rails adjacent to the front corners of the engine block. Completely clean the green corrosion from the internal parts with fine sandpaper and add dielectric grease then re-assemble. Clean the mounting bolt and frame hole while you're at it. Sounds time consuming and difficult, but it ain't. No more than 45 minutes combined. I am a technical airhead so if I can do it so can you. What clued me in was the problem always occurred around wet or humid weather. Also, the clock would always lose time overnite. That has ceased also. Good luck. Anyone know why my left headlite, when deployed, vibrates and shimmys??? Sully [email protected]

On most cars if the abs and trac lights are on there is a wheel bearing going out. You need to hook up to code rearder to find out which one

I have a 2000 Corvette and the Check Engine light came on, power was decreased and it said check Active Handling System...what does this mean and what kind of problems does it create?

Have the codes checked. There are to many possibilities for your car to list. Repost with the codes. Kind of problems it creates is lost power and handling.

What is wrong when i am seeing service active handling in my 2004 c5 coupe

You will have to have the codes read (with a scanner) to find the problem. There are several different sensors that are read to keep the active handling on. When the light comes on it disables active handling. Just don't racing around curvy roads until you get it repaired.

1999 Corvette abs lights & active handling goes off after starting car off and on two or three times then styas off

Your ABS module has failed. The ABS module is used as part of the Active Handling system, so it's also possible that the connector has either come disconnected or corroded. Try some WD-40 on the pins.

Trouble lights on but no codes

You need a code reader that reads ABS/TC codes. The standard code readers will not read theses codes. Most likely though you have a bad wheel sensor.

C1296 service active steering

Too major for this forum - you probably should research the code online.
It involves a pressure switch in the EBTCM ( electronic brake control model ) not reading the right voltage signal.
It could be a wiring problem or a faulty sensor which could require having the EBTCM rebuilt.
The active steering - traction control uses the brakes to keep the wheels from spinning or skidding.

I have a 99 corvette and I need the ABS, Traction system and Active handling serviced. Warning light for these things are coming on and staying on. What can be the problem? I think it's just the sensor...

I took my 99 vette to the dealer whith the same problem and they replace the rack and pinion because the black wire on top the rack was damaged.

Abs trac control light goes on at start up then off

It sounds like an ABS sensor or some other sensor going out. IF it's the main computer for the traction/handling system that's big $$$$$ like $1300+ I think.
This problem frequently starts out as occasional, goes to frequent, and then full time.  It usually relates to the ABS/TC assembly on the frame in front of the engine.
It is made of two parts, the EBTCM (the electronic part) wich is bolted to the mechanical half, the BPMV (Brake pressure modulating valve.) Sometimes the electronic grounds for this assembly get corroded or loose. Bad connectors for the ABS speed sensors at each wheel hub can also go bad.

EBTCM = Electronic Brake Traction Control Module
Good luck and hope this helps.
