Hi,

You'll need to locate the VGA port on your Laptop to your monitor. The VGA port looks like ...
i broke my computer screen on my dell 1440 how i - 5cfe79e.jpg

You should have a VGA cable that came with your monitor?

When you have connected the two together and turned on your Laptop the monitor should autosync and show the display. If this does not happen predd Fn+8 (the function key for external monitor support - should show a screen and a laptop on the key)

The Laptop may of course be damaged and not booting. Do you hear any disk booting? ... are the normal leds for keyboard etc lit?

Hope this helps, if so please leave feedback. If not, please let me know and I'll try and help some more!

How do you connect 3 monitors on an Optiplex 7010,Dell 7010 has 2 DP ports built in and 1 Vga port

To connect three monitors to a Dell Optiplex 7010, you can use the built-in DisplayPort (DP) ports and the VGA port. Here's how you can set it up:
  1. Check the available video ports: As you mentioned, the Dell Optiplex 7010 has two DisplayPort (DP) ports and one VGA port. Make sure all three monitors support at least one of these connection types.
  2. Connect the first monitor: Use a DisplayPort cable to connect the first monitor to one of the DP ports on the Optiplex 7010. Ensure that both ends of the cable are securely plugged in.
  3. Connect the second monitor: Connect the second monitor to the other DisplayPort (DP) port on the Optiplex 7010, using another DisplayPort cable.
  4. Connect the third monitor: Since the Optiplex 7010 has only two DP ports, you'll need to use the VGA port for the third monitor. Connect the third monitor to the VGA port using a VGA cable.
  5. Configure display settings: Once all three monitors are connected, you'll need to configure the display settings to extend the desktop across all monitors. Right-click on the desktop and select "Display settings" (Windows) or "System Preferences" -> "Displays" (macOS). From there, you should be able to set the arrangement and orientation of the displays.
Note: When using multiple monitors, it's important to consider the graphics capabilities of your computer. The Optiplex 7010 might have limitations on the maximum resolution and refresh rate it can support across multiple displays. Check the specifications of your specific Optiplex 7010 model to ensure it can handle three monitors simultaneously.
If you encounter any issues or limitations, you may need to consider using additional hardware, such as a DisplayPort splitter or an external graphics card, to connect and support three monitors.

LAPTOP to TV Connection

Many people today want to connect their computer to a TV. Most HDTVs today have a VGA input for computer hookup. Most laptops also have a VGA output for external display. Using a male to male VGA cable, the computer can use a HDTV for a display. Sound is connected using a 3.5mm audio cable. See this web page for complete details.

The screen resolution setting determines how much information is displayed on the display screen. It is measured horizontally and vertically in pixels. At lower screen resolutions, such as 640 x 480, fewer items will fit on the screen, but they will be larger. At higher resolutions, such as 1600 x 1200, more items will fit on the screen but they will be smaller. The resolution options will vary with each computer based on the video card device, monitor size, and video & monitor drivers. If the screen looks distorted or fuzzy, then you may have an incorrect screen resolution size set for your monitor. In Windows you can change the screen resolution to match the TVs capabilities. Native resolution for that monitor is 1440 x 900 (maximum) so you need to set resolution in your computer not in monitor.

Connect it to an external monitor with a VGA connection. If the external monitor comes on, yes your screen is broke.

Unable to detect 1440 x 900 resolution after change of cables

Try updating video drivers to be sure, but once you go over 3 meters, the video signal can degrade, causing a loss in the PnP signal to your monitor. Try setting the resolution manually.

How can I make fonts look good in an LCD monitor ?

The VGA connection should be fine; I have DVI and when I switched from analog, the difference was pretty minimal, to my eyes.

Is it just the fonts that are blurry, or everything? If fonts only, then this almost certainly suggests that running the ClearType tuner again would solve the problem. But this applies to all displays, so if one is good and the other is not, then this isn't it.

If everything is a little blurry, then this suggests one of two problems -- the first, you report trying, which is that the display adapter is set to a different resolution than the native resolution of the LCD monitor itself. Your display adapter should probably be able to drive 2 monitors (the built-in laptop monitor and the external monitor) at once. You should be able to set their resolutions separately.

Assuming Windows XP: Start > Control Panel > Display > Settings > at which point, you should see two monitors listed in a dropdown. Set them to their native resolutions there (using the slider bar, usually all the way to the right), and save.

If you do have the display resolutions set to their native resolutions for both monitors, then it's possible that your external monitor is messed up. A quick test would be to run the on-screen settings, usually from a button on the monitor itself. If what is displayed there is sharp and what is displayed from Windows is not, then this points to a problem with the display driver. If everything, even the on-screen display is blurry, then perhaps the monitor settings are messed up -- usually there's an option to restore to factory settings -- try that.

If that doesn't work, I'm probably out of ideas, unless you have further information.

How do i set my acer travel mate 2312lm to 1440 by 900 pixel so i can work my lcd tv

NOTE : If LCDTV does not have a VGA port, you will not be able to use it a external monitor.

e19583c.jpg

Steps :
1. Connect Laptop to LCDTV using a VGA Cable
2. Right-click on your desktop and select "Properties." (or click on start > Control Panel > Display)
3. A new window displaying several tabs will appear. Select the tab called "Settings."
4. You will see boxes with numbers on the middle, in your case 1 and 2 will be present.

ecb2d59.gif

5. Click on 2 and click on box beside "Extend my windows Desktop onto this monitor" then choose the resolution that you like (1440 by 900) then click on apply. If 1440 by 900 is not available, choose the closest under 1440 by 900. Don't go over 1440 by 900 since that is the max value that will work on you LCD TV.

6. After clicking on Apply, the display should be present on the LCD TV. (The disply is an extended desktop so you will not see the start button nor the taskbar on the LCD TV. but it should have the same wallpaper. You can Drag the windows to the LCDTV. This will serve as an extension of you desktop. (Ex : You can watch movie on the LCDTV and you can do documents on the laptop's screen at the same time).

Chimei CMV 938D 'Out of range' error message only when using DVI Connector on specific resolution and color depth

I know this sounds obvious but- I had the same problem, and turns out the cord want plugged in quite properly at the back of the monitor. This may not fix every problem, but, I suggest you check the cord pligged in at the back of the monitor is firmly in there and restart, then if you still get the problem, contact the company.
