Bike seems as if its running on 2 cyclinders

1982 Honda night hawk 750 not `85 700
I cleaned the carbs on this bike as I am ready to ride again (last season the bike ran fine) but this was not the problem - it seems that the bike is running on two cyclinders only the bike has fresh gas, spark to all four cyclinders, clean air filter... now I`m wondering if it might be weak spark ??? it must be electrical as the bike ran fine last year.

    Hi there

Yep the gas is in the float bowls on each carb and I`ve checked the h/t leads - had to replace one of them but still nothing....

Hello all, I was just wondering how to fix an apparent open throttle on a 1982 Honda cb750 Nighthawk 750?

I suspect that the throttle cable is out of the end setting from removing and replacing the carbs or a return spring for the cable has broken off and not pulling the throttle back to idle position

Backfiring and trouble starting

If you change the exhaust pipes, you have to sync the carbs (if you cant sync them, you have to change the carb jets), usually it is backfiring because the carbs are not in balance.

Cleaned the carbs. found a hose hanging between the two carbs that seems to **** air. Bike is backfiring. Please fill me in ITS THE NT650GT Hawk

the carbs must be syncronized, this will set the carbs so they are using the same volume of air and will make the bike run its best

I have a 1983 VF750S Sabre I just replaced the carb diaphragms and the needle and seats. The bike still will not run very well it won't idle either. It seems as though it is only running on a couple...

Sounds like you need to check the carbs again, paying close attention to the slow speed (idle) circuits. Be sure to clean all passages and jets thoroughly.

1983 Night Hawk 650 - only wants to run on three cylinders. Could this be a plug, plug wire, or carb. issue? Exhaust pipe is cold after 10 min with engine on. Ran fine a couple weeks ago when I had it out...

yes your thoughts are on target. could be the coil also. Id make sure that the carb for that cylnder will give some fuel when drain is opened. if it doesn't you need to clean that carb at least.check for spark on that plug to be shure it could run if it is getting fuel.that spark plug could be fouled and need to be replaced.

Bike will not run on right side 3 cylinders bike runs and getting fire to all cyclinders bike has new plugs I think carb problem plese help

hi,that doesnt sound like a lot of fun,i dont think that all three carbs would have failed at the same time, bit hard to diagnose without seeing and hearing the bike but it sounds like the right hand side cam belt has failed, when were they last replaced?,i think factory says 60000km,but i do the ones on my bike at 30000,they are not expensive, just time consuming, hope this helps

My 1982 honda CB750 wont run worth anything

I guess you will have to synchronize the carbs.
Check the float levels too in all the carbs.
Check the valve clearance.
Check the carburator intake mounting rubbers for leaks.
Hope this helps!

FIRST thing to check is spark plug ,make sure it is sparking ,if it is and is wet change the plug .If plug is dry it could be the carb needs cleaning out if it has beesn stood for a while
