The clicking is the igniter. If it is clicking and not lighting, then you may have to purchase an igniter kit and replace it. the relays can go bad, or igniter fails.
Boy, I had a Thermador that used to drive me bats. The best solution was to clean around the ignitor pin and make sure the orifices closest to the ignitor are not blocked... It made a big difference. I used a small fine metal bristle brush.. did the trick.
We called in an appliance repair technician. He said during the cleaning process of the cooktop, when the control knobs had been removed to thoroughly clean the cooktop, some cleaning fluid or water or moisture got into the ignition switch panel under the cooktop. Letting it dry for 24 hours should fix the problem and this appears to have done that.
This is definitely an electrical problem. Check the circuit breaker on the wall plate (where the cooktop is plugged in) as well as at the fuse box. If that is not the problem, you may need an electrician.
Check to make sure your burner caps are aligned. I had this problem, and it turned out one of my burner caps was slightly askew. Putting it level fixed the problem.
