Kenmore Elite Model 44836

We have a service policy with Sears and have had their repairman to house 4 times to fix extreme vibration on spin cycle with no resolution. Also, when we put woven blankets in the washer is DOES NOT spin the water out of the blankets and therefore takes a long time to get them dry. We used to have a Kenmore front load with no pedestal and was eight years old the spun these same blankets dry enough that they DIDN'T require long drying times. What is wrong with this "greatly improved" washer that it can't compete with our old one both in noise level and spin cycle? We paid $1350 for this supposedly new and improved washer.

The Sears repairman did not leave the machine level and instead raised the ront feet so it will tilt more to the rear is this the correct way to sove the problem since it didn't solve the problem? Thanks

Woven blankets do not spin dry and come out of the washer very wet and the washer on the spin cycle vibrates sooo much that it seems like it is going to come through the wall. Thanks

In the Whirlpool/Kenmore washers, a common problem is that the lid
plunger stops making contact with the lid switch. Use a pen to manually
press the lid switch actuator (with the lid up, duh). If the washer
        spins...well, you know the rest.

Older (belt-drive) Whirlpool/Kenmores: the spin solenoid
is burned out or has cut wires. Ohm out that solenoid (20-30 ohms) and
test with a test cord. Make sure the wires are intact by giving them a
little tug. If this is OK, you may need to adjust/replace the basket drive.

Newer (direct-drive) Whirlpool/Kenmores: worn out direct drive coupler.

The drive belt has had it. Look for excessive glazing on the sides of the belt or cracks in the power side of the belt. On Maytags, replace the belt set if they look glazed or shiny on the sides
even though the belts may look OK otherwise. Belts on other brands will
be more obviously bad. Here's how to replace the belt on older Whirlpool/Kenmore belt-drive washers, and on old-style GE/Hotpoint washers.

        Timer
is fried. On older timers, it's sometimes possible to run an external
jumper to replace the bad internal contacts. Usually, however, the
entire timer must be replaced. The only way to confirm is to use your
        meter and wiring diagram.

Check that the feet are level to the floor as this may cause the vibration. Also set the machine to wool mode this then knows what material you are putting in the machine then should cycle to that material.

Thanks J

Most likely adjust the machine so it is level then try.

    Thanks J

Kenmore Elite oasis 2709 ol signal came up, initially sears repairman said that the drum needed to be replaced so they ordered one and about a week later it showed up, then I wait a week for service guy to...

The "liquid" you here sloshing around in there is supposed to be there,it helps it to stay balanced when it spins at Hightower speed. Also you should use the "clean washer" cycle about once a month,... It helps get rid of the hard water deposits that build up, unless you have a water softener unstaaled in the house - but most people don't. If you do a lot of laundry, the strut rods that hold the drum in place wear out( mine lasted six years) and that will make it out of balance when it goes into drain and spin cycle.

Yes, Sears repair just ordered one for mine. Entire tub due to bearings gone. Also just over 3 years old and ext warranty ran out in June. Final inspection before warranty was scheduled in June 2010. July the bearings are gone. Hmm wonder how they missed that? Anyway if you call for service, ask about the maintenence plan. Its way cheaper than labor and tub and u have another year for more issues with this piece of junk washer.

Kenmore Elite HE3 front loader F-11 and FDL codes

yes!! the F/11 is triggered under high voltage conditions like high speed spinning. The part is called the MCU motor control unit. if it goes into failure while using your machine and locks the door, just wait 3 minutes and the door will unlock after the MCU resets. Try using you machine with a low speed spin for awhile.

What does a code f51 stand for on a kenmore oasis elite washer

F-51 ERROR CODE IS DEALING WITH THE SPIN CYCLE. THE CONTROL DOES NOT DETECT IT SPINNING.THE RPS SENSOR ON THE BOTTOM OF THE UNIT NEEDS TO BE TAKEN OFF AND PUT BACK ON ABOUT 10 TIMES. SOUNDS WEIRD BUT USUALLY FIXES IT. THEY DO HAVE A KIT ALSO FOR THE RPS TO BE REPLACED. UNPLUGGING FOR A FEW HOURS IS A TEMP FIX.
