Hit the door lock with the remote or dr. side will lock all the doors so they won't open from the outside. If you open the rear doors, on the outside edge of the doors is a lever that will allow the rear doors to operate from the inside. Hope that helps
Won't open from outside? Won't open from inside? Equipped with power door locks? IF so, and won't open inside/outside, suspect stuck power door lock actuator. Sometimes working the lock/unlock button will make the door unlock. If not, the door will require disassembly from inside to determine what the failure may be. If the door needs disassembly while in the closed position, the paneling/clips may get damaged FYI
If it opens from the outside, check on the door itself near the latch assembly for a little black lever that moves back and forth...that is the child safety rear door lock and when engaged, wont allow the door to open from the inside...setting the lever to free position should allow door to open (pg 3-5 of owners manual) https://owners.infinitiusa.com/content/manualsandguides/FX/2008/2008-Infiniti-FX4535.pdf
This worked for me on 2008 Mk5 Golf, after the rear passenger door would not open fro outside or inside.
Hold the inside door latch open and keep it extended, then with the key fob open and close the door locks (still holding the inside latch open). Keep locking and unlocking the door, then it made a kluck and it released.
from inside or outside ? if won't open from inside your child safety lock is probably tripped. if won't open from outside you probably have a lock rod that popped off inside the door, in which I would have the dealer fix it, it involves taking door pad off and when you can't open door to take pad off ,most of the time it damages it.
Sometimes..........tapping with a rubber hammer around the door latch .....which is about halfway down the door at the rear of the door from the exterior.......THEN pulling the lock button open on the rear door will allow you to........open the door. Do not touch the outside handle until the inside lock button is triggered from inside the door. If this does open the door (s) do not RE LOCK them until the latches inside the doors are WELL lubricated.....this lubrication will require inside door panel removal.
i dont know if ur door is electric or manual.as for the door not opening from the inside it could be a rod has come off from the inside of the door to the handle you have to take inside door panel off and have a look.
