Ok...ive been trying to solve this problem for quite some time but just cant get it.
I have a webcam, microsoft lifecam vx-3000 that while connected to my internet connection it wont connect when im using my msn messenger. Yet i know the camera works cause if i find another wireless connection and connect....the camera will work. Ive tried turning the firewall on and off....and changed the "exceptions". I even recently tried installing yahoo messenger and when trying to connect with that.....i got "a network error occured while connecting to the server"??? Can someone PLEASE help me......
(also if it helps, i cant download any music while connected to my connection....yet again when connected to a different wireless connection, it works)
I have tried dl new drivers for the camera, reinstalling windows....and tried to delete my wireless connection and refreshing it.
If you have any questions at all....please let me know as i would love to get this solved.

Did you install the software with the camera connected to
the computer? Disconnect the camera from the USB port and reinstall the
software. When the program asks you to connect the camera, do so, and it
should work. Hope this is of some help.
Bud
Below is info for setting up Audio & Video to chat on
line after you install , either Skype or a messenger program.
Web Camera’s have to be
setup on the program they are to be used with.
Just installing the camera on your computer does not set it up to broadcast
on messengers or Skype.
Each program has Options that have to be setup in order for
the Audio and Video to function properly.
A. Skype Setup:
After downloading and installing Skype set it up as follows:
The camera and audio should function properly. Your friends and Family will now see and
talk to you.
B. Yahoo Setup:
After downloading and installing Yahoo Messenger set it up
as follows:
C. Windows Live
Messenger:
NOTE: You audio and
video shoud work. Enjoy.
When done both the Audio and Video will function properly so
you can chat and see family or friends you are connected to.
Hope this helps. Bud

not sure what kind of router it is? how do i find out?
Nitrotrike.....im not sure of the router.....if has something to do with ports is that something i can change from my computer??
well actually im working on a megayacht.....thats why i dont know the router information..but the thing is it USED to work on the boat...and others have been using theirs. And when i get off the boat...and use another wireless connection it works and connects NO problem!!
no sorry...we all work on the same boat using the same wireless signal.....and their cameras are working...mine not so much!! maybe a setting in mine thats not allowing it through the firewall or something? but i have turned the firewall off...and on..both nothing. Also...when you first find and connect with the signal...vista asks what type of connection you are using....privat....public that sort of thing...cause that is supposed to put automatic restrictions on things for you.....but i think ive played around with different options on that too....
Sorry just trying to give you all the info i can.
If it works on other wireless connections, then it's an issue on the other end of the wireless signal. Why it is only blocking yours, I have no idea.
Are the other people paying for any kind of "premium" access?
No, it the problem is a port forwarding problem, it has to be done in the router configuration itself.
Question.... are you by chance using someone elses wireless?? lol
Should have a label on the front or on the bottom of it.
The reason I ask is because sometimes you have to forward ports on the router.
What kind of router are you using for wireless (if any)?
