The carpet is not intended to get soaked, like what you see with a spray application. If you are seeing a stream of water in the nozzle/tank during the recovery stroke, this is working properly.

Cleaner not spraying/spinsrub attachment

My hoover unit is older, but I had constant problems with the sprayer unit. I recommend returning the unit for a refund or getting an Return Authorization number. They may send you another unit and then you can see if the new one works. If the sprayer does not work, sometimes you have to take the handle apart to discover how it's put together.

Hoover steam vac dual v carpet cleaner has stopped dispensing soap. Water is still flowing fine

You probably have a solenoid valve which has failed and will not open. This will require replacement of the valve. For temporary use you can mix a soap solution and put it in the rinse tank. The correct mix is 5 ounces of Hoover shampoo to a gallon of hot water.

Setting up for apolstery cleaning

Hoover Steam Vac F5853-900 Series 17.9

Remove the tank front panel by sliding it straight up. Replace panel with converter (located on end of hose, end is shaped like front panel that you slide out. Before connecting tube to cleaner, make sure black tabs are extended by pulling tan collar roward tube.Open door on hood labeled "Stair/Upholstery Cleaning Connection" Press round solution tube connector onto round projection inside door. Press connecator collar down firmly to ensure that it is fully connected.
When the solution tube is connected to the deep cleaner, the nozzle brushes will automatically be turned off and will not rotate when the deep cleaner is turned on even if the speed selector is in the HI oar LO position. For full suction, it is important that the recovery tank lid is properly secured before cleaning. The tank lid is replaced in a hinge-like manner. Position front of lid under tabs on front of tank. Rotate lid down onto tank. Make sure lid is secure on all sides before cleaning.Hope this helps.

Hoover all terrain dual v spin and scrub 12 amps

All of the hoover cleaners use air to spin the brushes the air intake is probably clogged. There is a Little clear window on the top of the machine pull that off and underneath is a little screen clean that out and that should fix your problem. Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. I have a similar Hoover “SteamVac” and the vacuum does not create steam as you stated, but you do have to use the hottest water with cleaning solution and the Hoover will clean your carpet by spraying down the solution, the scrubbing brushes will loosen the dirt and the vacuum will pickup the excess water until the holding tank is full and then you have to empty it, and then start again. The word “Steam Vac” is something that the Hoover factory labeled but so far I have not seen anything that actual produces “Steam” while cleaning. Feel free to contact the Hoover factory with your complaint @ the information listed below. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

My Hoover Dual v lets out too much solution and water.

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Hoover F5866-900 SteamVac Deluxe Wet/Dry. You probably have 2 problems, #1. The trigger assm may be loose or broken and is not releasing the solution from the water solution tank or #2. The valve under the water solution tank could be shot or broken. If so, then the water solution tank is one assm and you would need to purchase a new or a good used one to replace. Please, feel free to check with your local vac dealer in your area. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

brushes do not rotate on Hoover steam-vac upright

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
This also happened to my own Hoover Steam Vac and there was a broken part that connected to the brush assm that I had to replace, it has been a while but once they replaced the part everything worked just fine and it was not that expensive and I am still using the vacuum still to date and it is working just fine. I believe it was something like the switch for the brushes on/off switch or the part was part of the handle assm. Check you owner’s manual for the exploded view on the vacuum or also check with your local vac dealer. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

Hoover steam vac dual model F7425900

If you are talking about the brush block, take it out and see if the shaft that goes up into the turbine is broken off, if not, then the turbine has gone bad and will have to be replaced. The turbine is what turns the brushes.
