Hoover Steam Vac F5853-900 Series 17.9

Remove the tank front panel by sliding it straight up. Replace panel with converter (located on end of hose, end is shaped like front panel that you slide out. Before connecting tube to cleaner, make sure black tabs are extended by pulling tan collar roward tube.Open door on hood labeled "Stair/Upholstery Cleaning Connection" Press round solution tube connector onto round projection inside door. Press connecator collar down firmly to ensure that it is fully connected.
When the solution tube is connected to the deep cleaner, the nozzle brushes will automatically be turned off and will not rotate when the deep cleaner is turned on even if the speed selector is in the HI oar LO position. For full suction, it is important that the recovery tank lid is properly secured before cleaning. The tank lid is replaced in a hinge-like manner. Position front of lid under tabs on front of tank. Rotate lid down onto tank. Make sure lid is secure on all sides before cleaning.Hope this helps.
Good Luck

Install upper control rod

Hi, it's Jeremy from Crucial Vacuum.

To attach the upper handle to your Hoover Steam Vac remove the clean solution tank (upper tank) from the deep cleaner. Then, attach the upper handle to the lower handle by pushing the upper handle down onto lower one. Use the provided bolts to secure the handles. Push the bolts into the accompanying holes on the front of handle. If the bolts do not go through the holes easily, your handle is not pushed completely down. When the handle sections are completely together, squeeze the trigger on the upper handle to snap the trigger rod into place.

We need a user manual/directions for a f5905-900 hover steam vac clean surge.

Hi There,

Unfortunately the Hoover F5905-900 is a little outdated, and Hoover doesn't have that model on their site. They do however have the Hoover F5906-900 instruction manual which I linked below. This model is identical to yours, and will explain all that you need to know.

If it's parts that you are looking for, here's a link to the parts for the Hoover SteamVac on our website:
Hoover SteamVac Parts & Accessories

If it's something else that you need help with, please don't hesitate to add a comment on this page with your question/concern and I'd be more then happy to help you out.

Here's the link to the owners manual:

If this answered your question, please be sure to rate the repair helpful, or leave feedback for me, this is greatly appreciated by the Fixya community. Thanks again!

We lost our manual for our Hoover steam vac; set it up and water doesn't release. What’s the problem?
Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. You can get the owner’s manual from the Hoover factory that I will list below and as per the water doesn’t release, it could be the trigger assm that maybe got disconnected and or broken and that could be why the water is not coming out. If you purchased it less than one year it would be covered under the one year Hoover factory warranty, so free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer or the Hoover fact website or cust serv @ the phone # listed below.

So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.
