1. The soap door will not stay closed in order to use the second soap well for the longer cycles. I can only use economy.
2. The air dry/heat switch does not work.. Fortunately it is stuck working on air dry.
My husband is handy around the house ( did the wiring for the whole house) and could probably replace some parts if he knew which ones.

Same thing happened to us. We noticed that it happened if the soap was left sitting before starting the washer. Since then, we immediately start the washer after putting soap in it and the problem appears to have gone away.
So much for the delayed start features, but at least the soap doesn't stick anymore.
good luck!

We had problems with soap remaining in the dispenser and dishes not getting clean when we used gel dish doap. We changed to the cakes of soap with a Jet Dry Power Ball in the middle, and now they clean fine.

don't know what you did with the spring but it only needs replacing if it is broken
SOURCE: Soap dispenser cover won't close
It sounds like it may be stuck between cycle steps.(this sometimes happens if the washer is open during a cycle)Try and run it through one full wash cycle as it is.Then check to see if the soap door will close. If not,the lack may be broken

Lets try the following hope this works
1.- unplug the appliance, isolate it from the electric supply.
2.- Remove the kitchen unit plinth and check inside the inspection panels below the door to see if there is water in the base.
If there is, sponge it out and then try the machine again.
