Chances are you have a bad door switch or mount.

Door switch or mount trouble is usually caused by slamming the door or by opening the door while it's cooking without hitting the Stop pad or otherwise turning off the timer first.

II there, I have and old micro wave GOURMET WAVE model EM031ESB and he stop working.

If this is the case then the 'magnatron' (the actual microwave emitting bit) has stopped working. It could be as simple as a blown fuse, a blown rectifier diode or the magnatron unit itself. If you want to have a go yourself, wait at LEAST half an hour after turning off and disconnecting the unit before you take the cover off to check anything. BE AWARE THAT THERE ARE VERY HIGH VOLTAGES BEING GENERATED. Without electrical knowledge and equipment just check the basics

I bought my microwave last year,It had been working but suddenly will not heat, the light comes on table turns and sounds like it is on but will not heat? please help

Repolace the microwave, the heating components like the magnatron would cost almost as much as a new microwave. If money is an issue try Goodwill, they usually sell microwaves for about 5-10$ which is WAY less than cost of parts.

Hi,you have not stated how old this unit is ? I think they are supposed to last for 4-5 years but I've known some to break after just one year and others that worked great for 15 years or more.

Carbon Heating Lamp for microwave oven strong heat resistance. More than 6000hrs lifespan.
From a website...

7.3.7 Magnetron Life Expectancy

The typical life of a magnetron tube is approximately 2000 hours of operation. Some factors that can diminish the life of a magnetron are: 1) no-load operation, 2) operating with too much metal in the cooking cavity, 3) line voltage consistently too low or too high, 4) improper phasing, 5) improper installation or removal, 6) replacing associated high-voltage components with substitutes that are incompatible with the system design, 6) continual operation at the upper limit of its heat tolerance due to inadequate air circulation, 7) obstruction in the wave-guide, 8) failed stirrer operation.

---------

We use ours about 15 mins a day which would mean 2000 hours would be reached in 22 years but as they say there are a lot of factors which may reduce its life. The design and parameters of the oven will make a considerable difference. E.G. A highish power magnetron always underrun will last much longer than a smaller one run at its max ratings.

A restaurant might reach 2000 hours in only a year or so and industrial machines whether for cooking food or other processes will require frequent magnetron replacement.

Timer functions, fan works, great humming noise, no heat. Magnetron??

If there is no heat at all, but you can hear the magnetron humming, it is probably bad. if there is uneven heat, the wave stirrer that distributes the microwaves around the cooking chamber may be bad. it will heat only one spot unless the wave stirrer is rotating.

Micro is turning on ok and working but not heating up,what would cause that? light is on ok and plate is turning, just not heating

How old is your m wave? Sounds like you need to replace it .You can get a new one from Wal mart for under 75.00.and that will get you the big 1 sq.ft one..I once broke the plate in my m/wave and believe it or not they wanted more for the new plate than I paid for the M/wave BEFORE you do that check your power level settings perhaps it was turned down

E Wave microwave stop heating

Sounds like the magnetron has failed. There are some high voltage circuits that feed the magnetron and you can potentially get hurt if you don't know what you are doing. Would recommend you have it serviced by a professional if you want it fixed, otherwise look for a new one since the cost of repair can come close to the price of a new microwave oven.
