Erik? Do you either live next to an airport or on an approach pattern? Just wondering! No really...IF Your machine is making THAT much noise! Jeeze! You have a balance drum bearing gone! Maybe more. There are usually four of them located on the corners of the drum. They are throw away and buy new anywhere from $20-40 each. If you have no idea what I am talking about and your machine is over 7 yrs old. Get a new One!
If the water is pumping out fine you may need new shocks. But if it is slow pump the shaft on the pump is loose and causing the noise and possibly the spin issue. If it is loud when it does go into a spin (sounds like a jet engine) you have bad bearings. Big bucks to fix.
I have the HE3T which is 6 yo. Last week it started making a loud banging noise in the spin cycle. I had a repairman come out. He said it is the drum bearings. He said that it is a problem with these machines and to call Sears. He said that the drum and bearing is one assembly and that Sears should cover it.
I called today and Sears todl me that I have to pay for a Sears technician to come out a determine if it is indeed the problem. If so, it will be covered under the lifetime warranty on the drum. I have to pay for the service call $75.00 and if it is the problem, I will be reimbursed. Cross my fingers!
frigidaire frontloader infamous for rear bearings going bad,NOISY is probable an understatement. I wold open door and grab hold of inner tub, try to lift it up a bit, problably a bit of play in there, thats an indication of bearing failure, call authorized servicer possible warr parts
