My laptop's screen stays black.

So just recently my emachines laptop screen has decided to not turn on whatsoever. I know that my laptop is actually on though because I hear the windows welcome noise and other familiar noises whenever I turn it on. I have tried to see if I can see my desktop just barely but the screen is just pure black. I have never spilled anything on it and I have never damaged it in anyway, so I don't think it's due to a physical problem. The adapter and battery seem to work fine, if that helps, and I just can't seem to figure out the problem.

So basically, it's like turning on a laptop without having a screen. Make sense?
All help is appreciated. Thanks! <3

Can you see your screen as it should be when it is on by holding a flashlight on it.
If so then it is probably your backlight that is gone.
I am in the process of changing mine.
Very cheap

My laptop had been dropped so my 17" Screen is black & cracked the machine turns on but the screen remains black and cracked.

I would go back to the store that you bought it from and see if they can fix the screen. You never know you might just need a new screen

EMachines eMD620 suddenly shutdown and not boot anymore

When this happened was the laptop overly hot? If the laptop's head got too high it could have shutdown to protect itself. It wouldn't boot until the heat had disparate. Sit you laptop aside for about 30 minutes and see if it will boot then. If it does you might want to check out a cool mat.

When i turn my lap top on the screen stays black. I can hear that it has turned on but nothing appears. One message shot up but I was unable to read it so I know that its not the actual screen.

Restart the notebook, press F8 to select last known configuration. this will set the notebook to previous date when it was working fine. If the issue persists get back to me.

Lenovo S10 Series Turns on But The Screen Stays Black?

Take out your battery and hold down the power button for 60secs... This will release any excess charge built up in the machine.Put the power back on but without the battery, just plug the adapter and if it turns on then you know what's wrong. You need a new battery.Make your laptop light.Make sure you don't have anything attached to the Laptop and then restart. It could also be your hardware [motherboard, graphics card, screen] problem,if you can,try tightening the screen connection from inside. If that also doesn't solve the problem then you need to go to the company service center.

MX 6124 Gateway notebook screen stays black when powering up

Repaired! This sounde like a fuelty screen or screen inverter. To check this, connect to an external monitor, if the external works properly, then it's the screen or inverter. If the external doesn't work, let me know and we'll run the problem down to a more indepth (internal) trouble shoot.
