How do i rename pictures so that my computer won't think they are duplicates?

Rename the photos on the computer before you download the new photos.
OR
Create a new folder (say Photos1) in another area away from where the existing photos are located in your computer and move all the existing existing into the new Photo1 folder.
Then when you download the new photos from your camera then there will be no conflict or the need to rename the existing photos.
Later, you will need to create another folder and move the current photos into this folder before you download the next lot of photos from your camera.

Synching Itunes

To Transferring Playlists

If you want not only your content but also your playlists to exist on your new computer, you will want to transfer a copy of all your playlists from your old computer. To do this, choose File > Library > Export Library on your old computer. Save the XML file that is created to your desktop.

Send the playlists file to yourself as an e-mail attachment, use an external drive, or use file sharing to move the playlists file to your new computer. Once the file is on your new computer, open iTunes and choose File > Library > Import Playlist. The import process will remove any items from the playlists that you didn't share via Home Sharing.

My lacie drive will shows up on the desktop and you can see all the folders and files but it will not allow me to open up my project files in Final Cut Pro.

I'm going to have to guess a bit based on limited information I have on this, but did you create a Final Cut Pro sequence on the Lacie on one computer and then are trying to open the sequence on another computer?
That won't work if that's the case ...
The FCP sequence refers to files, but doesn't include them in the sequence file ... All of the referred to files will have to go along on the Lacie and be transferred to the same folders on the second computer so the FCP sequence will find them.
You can try consolidating the project in FCP to make the transfer easier ... after consolidating it, the files needed for the project should be trimmed and all located in one place (scratch disc selected in preferences)

Once again, the sequence file does not contain your movie clips, audio or other assets .... they are located in different places on the computer where you create the sequence, and if you move to another computer everything has to move into exactly the same place ...

Hope this helps

Hitachi SimpleDrive 320GB: Error moving file: Access denied!

The problem may be that your Security settings for the drive are not configured to give you Full Control.

In Explorer, right-click on the Hitachi drive and choose Properties.
Go to the Security tab.

Find the User you are trying to use and click on it.
Under Permissions, click Edit and enable Full Control for that user.

That should give you the ability to do what you need to.

If Windows won't allow you to change the setting, it's because you don't have Administrator priviledges. In that case, log out and log back in as an Administrator and go back and make the changes.

How can I move all my files from my existing 1GB micro SD to my new 4 GB micro SD? I'm using Nokia N95.

You can try moving the contents of the 1 GB memory card in a new folder in the phone memory using a file explorer and after that you may remove the 1 GB card from the phone, insert the new card and move the files from phone memory to SD card. However, since there is a lot of data in the old card, moving the files to the phone memory is not recommended. The recommended way is to use a memory card reader on your PC, copy the contents from the old card to a location in your computer and then move them to the new card by simple copy/paste technique.

Proper or Best way to use my newly installed WD SATA external Hard Drive;

The files are placed on the drive by you. Unless someone setup a special application files will not automatically migrate to another drive. You would not generally want them to because they would never be where you left them and be much harder to find. Primarily you will want to be moving data files and not application files (unless you uninstall from the internal drive and reinstall to the external drive) You can open my computer and find both drives -- you can drag/drop folders (containing only data, mp3s, videos, etc) between drives. I always like to check these moves by doing a right mouse click selecting properties on each folder separately to assure that an equal number of folders and files were copied before deleting them off of the smaller drive.

I emphasize again moving programs in this fashion will cause them to break. If you have large and seldom used applications you can uninstall them then using the installation process and media provided by the manufacturer then reinstall them choosing the external drive as the destination..

I hope this helps.

Failed to launch PowerProducer Project

I had the same problem and after troubleshooting found out that the project was not opening because I had changed the location of some pictures I used on a slideshow.

It sucks that the project doesn't have it's own version of the slides and requires the photo files to be in the same physical location as they were when you originally created the slide or used the video file.

Not sure if this will help others, but if you moved any files that you used to create your project, try to restore them to their original location and see that fixes it for you...that fixed my problem.

good luck.
