Take the unit back apart and examine it very carefully to be sure you did get all the debris out of it and that you did reassemble it correctly. There could be something loose that is dropping down into the light channel or your other slides may not be aligning correctly causing a short light interference. I hope this helps.
if it won`t close look at the door latch mechanism. there should be two u shaped claws that close around the door striker plate pin, sometimes these get closed before the door is closed causing the door not to close and stay closed. if they are closed(claws) pull the door handle to open the door and take something and push the claws out(open) then close the door.
If the door does not close either something ( a coin or anything) got inside or there is a issue with the mechanism= alignment or possible bad part in that mechanism that loads and positions the disc.
A suggestion when door opens try to take a quick look inside with a flashlight to see what you can.
if the bobbin cover won't fit easily over the bobbin the either it's the wrong bobbin for the machine, the bobbin is warped or there is something wrong with the bobbin case
