Hello, Sally -

Fiskars makes more than one model of paper trimmer. I have no idea which one you own.

Therefore, I suggest you contact Fiskars Customer Service (via a telephone call) and discuss the problem you have experienced with a member of the Customer Care Team. This is the link to the Fiskars web page with the toll-free Customer Care Team number:

I cannot seem to close the hedge trimmer again: i.e., the tips of the two blades do not come together again. How can I solve this?

Evidently there is a burr/dent along one or both of the blades that is causing it not to close all the way. Just take a fine metal hand file and lightly file the area of the dented blade on the bottom of each blade, the sides of the blades that face each other. When you do one blade, just flip the trimmer over and do the other blade the same way. That should eliminate the problem and let the blades close all the way again.

I have a Gerber Muliti tool and broke the file how can I get it fixed

Hello. Unfortunately GerberGear division of Fiskars Brands Inc is about the only company that handles replacement parts and/or repairs. Your product should still be under warranty, (I believe most multi-tools are lifetime status) and warranty repairs are almost effortless. They have divisions globally, as I am unaware of your location - I am including the link to the North American site for contact information. If a different country is required, the customer service number would be your choice. Sorry I can't be of more assistance, but hopefully this will provide you with a solution. Thank You.

This is the link to the parent company, just in case you need to go higher on the ladder.
