Indesit DIF 041B Door won’t close ?? Suddenly when I try to close the dishwasher door, it won’t stay closed. I have checked the mechanism which is working, as it starts to wash when I put a screwdriver in ;switched it off to do thus obviously) BUT it looks like that the latch on the unit is about 4mm lower than where the catch should lock on to the door (I used lipstick in the catch to see if it was meeting with the mechanism). I have adjusted the legs up & down, but to no avail ?? Does anyone have any ideas pretty please ??

Either: broken wiring at the hinge point o the door
or: water solenoid full of crud.
get a service tech to check it out.

maybe a problem with the sensor 'door open/door close' check if its dirty or stuck if mechanical. press door to close and hold tight close while starting to identify.- or no sufficient water supply- or used water cannot drain out

There is a plastic unit behind the door handle which houses a spring under tension. This latches the door closed and makes the electrical connection to allow the machine to work properly. You need to buy a new unit (£15) which is a bit fiddly to reach but easy to fit (2 screws)

i have a indesit dif 04 that starts a cycle fills with water and then the lights on door start to flash,leving all the water in the bottom?

You need to buy a new door lock from Hotpoint  £14.99 in UK

press sani and heat back and fourth then after all lights light close door and hit start then wait about 3 minutes. worked for me

I had the same problem, so I took the door apart as explaned above, found it was gunged up with residue from the washihg cycles. Gave it a good clean, while the part was disconected of course, and hay presto! the door works like new again.

Not sure what do you mean by keeping the door to stay open. Well if you want to keep the door open during operation , identify the mechanism that triggers the on button .

In my dishwasher to check if it function properly , I keep a small wedge / strip near the handle / button which opens the door.
