Display problems sansa e260

I got my sansa e260 a year ago, and im absolutely in love with it xD
however i dropped it a few days ago (nothing much, just 2 feet or so onto carpet) and now there's something wrong with the display. The startup screen and main menu are extremely grainy, and don't even ASK about photo and video.
i notice its mostly black backgrounds that are affected...theyve got tiny dark blue markings all over (like snow on a TV screen)
has this happened to anyone before? HELP!

Difference between the origional sansa and the sansa fuze?

the sansa fuze is the best to get because it is less prone to scrathes, glitches, problems with the screen, ect. the sansa fuze also comes with free rapsidy for roughly 15 days. the sansa e200 series has quite a few problems. the screen on mine is busted T_T, so i have to buy a fuze. My friend has a fuze and hes had i for 4 years. it still work great. just dont drop it from heights of over 40 feet and even then it will still probabilly work.

Best Of Luck Trying to find a sansa. P.S i wouldn't go with an ipod, they get brocken to easily trust me i would know.

Sansa 260

this is how to do it READ EVERYTHING DONT SKIP THING

Switch your Sansa E260 to its Recovery Mode:

1. Make sure the player is powered off
2. Enable the "Hold" switch (located on the top of the player). You would know it's enabled when you see the "orange-colored" surface
3. Press the "Record" button. Make sure you keep it pressed while pressing on the "Menu" button.
4. keep your fingers pressed on these 2 buttons until the E260 LCD screen displays "Welcome to Recovery Mode"
5. Connect your E260 to your computer. (Just a reminder: The minimum Operating System requirements for a Sansa E200 player is Windows XP and above)
6. Double-click on "My Computer" and you would see your Sansa E260 appear as a "16 MB" drive. Note: If you do not see that "16 MB" drive/partition, please repeat steps 1-6.

Next, Apply the firmware for the E260 (your player should be connected to your PC at this time):

Step 1:
Use this link to download the firmware for your Sansa E260 (for better results, please save this file on your "Desktop":
http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/Default.aspx?CatID=1449

Step 2:
Double left-click on the downloaded file, and follow the on-screen prompts. The file will automatically re-flash your player and format it as well, thereby clearing all possible file/system corruptions that may have occurred.

Step 3:
When the process is complete, unplug your E260 from your computer, and please make sure you disable the "Hold" switch

Step 4:
Power up your E260 and 90-99% of the time, it would boot up successfully.

Step 5:
Enjoy using your Sansa E260, just like I do. (I love this player)

The system is running very slow

Hi. Normally the symptoms you described would be due to using an expandable memory card (a 2GB microSD, for example)and have loaded too many songs. Another possibility is that your Sansa E260 may be encountering corruptions in its internal/external memory. One solution would be to perform a "Low Level" format on the player under MSC mode, thus, eliminating any corruption on the player. To do so, please switch the player's mode to MSC. Under this mode, your player would function as a normal media storage device (like a flash drive). Just a reminder: Formatting would delete all of the files on your Sansa E260. You may want to make back-up copies of important files on your player before you proceed to the solution below. Here's how to perform a "Low Level" format: Step 1: Plug your player to your PC (Just a reminder, your player's minimum Operating System requirement is Windows XP and above). Windows XP would identify your player as a "Removable Drive". Step 2: On your desktop, please single right-click on the "My Computer" icon and select "Manage" from the pop-up menu list. This would open the "Computer Management" window. Step 3: On the left pane on the "Computer Management" window, single left-click on "Disk Management" (this is located on the middle section of the list, under "Storage"). Step 4: Look at the topmost portion of the right pane. This would give you a list of drives, one which would correspond to your Sansa E260. On the icon pertaining to your Sansa E260, please right-click on it and select "Format" on the pop-up menu list. This would display the "Format" window. Step 5: On the "Format" window, please make sure that the File System type is FAT32, and also make sure that the "Quick Format" checkbox -- found on the bottom section of that windows -- remains unchecked. Click "Start" to begin formatting the player. Step 6: Re-transfer all your music files to the player. The most preferred method is to use Windows Media Player 10 or 11 to transfer the files to your player. Another method would be to "copy and paste" or "drag and drop" the files as long as they aren't subscription music files I hope this helps resolve the "lag time" you're encountering. I just love the Sansa E260! Syd.
