I have the same problem. Intermittent beeps. I'm pretty sure it turned itself on once. The surface is clean and undamaged.

SOURCE: Ticking sound from GE cooktop igniter

Under each gas control is a switch that will turn on the spark module when rotated to the light position. One or more of these switches has failed. Some models these switches are individually replaceable, others the switch is an assembly of all four.

SOURCE: my ge ceramic cooktop hot indicator light won't go out

I know that some people have mentioned that it looks like it's on, even when it's off. Depending on how the light hits it, it can look like it's glowing a bit. This would be normal.

SOURCE: my ignitor on my ge cooktop keeps clicking slowly in off mode

As it relates to 5 burner gas cooktop Model Number JGP 963SEJ1SS
First - Ignite the flame then reduce the flame to between low and medium.  If the igniter continues to click, you most likely have a contact switch issue related to the problem burner.
Unplug the cook top and turn off the gas.  After the gas is turned off, disconnect the gas line.
Remove the cook top.

Unscrew and Remove ALL of the burner bases by lifting them up.  The ceramic igniters may be difficult to remove but they will come loose if worked out slowly.
Pull of the wire connected to the igniter.
Remove to cook top top plate from the base, exposing the internal gas valves and wiring.
All of the burners are wired in parallel.   Lift off and unsnap the casing of the problem igniter switch.  The repair may require something as simple as, 1- cleaning the contact strips, or 2- slightly bending the non stationary contact strip to keep it from coming in contact with the stationary contact when in the off position, or 3- replacing the switch.
Unless you comfortable and understand how electric systems and switches work, this is a job for a qualified repair person.

SOURCE: The igniter on the right front burner of my GE Gas Cooktop

the very first thing i would do here is to check the ignitor itself
under the head cap you should see two screws, once those are out you will be able to lift the burner plate, lift the burner plate, you will see, or should see the ignitor, and the wire.
i check this for voltage by unplugging the ignitor and olding the wire close to a ground, the metal body is good. Turn on the ignitor, becareful it is live. yhou shgould see a spark comming from the wire
if not check to make sure that wire is in position and on the spark module
if you do see a spark this way, just order the replacement ignitor
and install it when it arrives

SOURCE: Broken selector switch

TURN OFF CIRCUIT BREAKER. Lift out cooktop, remove all machine screws holding the glass frame. Remove plastic knobs and lift glass top straight up. Make sure rubber gromits are not ripped or torn. Unscrew the small screws on the selector switch and then lift up and tilt over the small aluminum chasis holding the switches to expose the wiring connections. Pull off the wires and pull out the defective switch. Replacre switch, connect wires, re-seat switch chasis, and secure switch with screws. Carefully drop in the glasstop lining up the switch shafts and the rubber grommets. Secure the top with machine screws and drop back in the cutout.

Ge monogram induction cooktop error F

The induction cooktop will flash "F" when cookware has been removed from the surface; cookware is not present when the unit is turned on; or cookware is not centered on the element.
Position the cookware properly over the center of the cooking surface if the error code "F" flashes. Use only induction cookware and use a bigger pan, as the error code "F" indicates that the pan is too small for the cooking element.

Power went out. reset circuit breaker and all the lights keep flashing 8.8 and won't stop

Hello Heidi, thank you for your post!
From my understanding your Electrolux cooktop is displaying an error code of 8.8. The error code of 8.8 means there is a shift register issue on the middle touch board. This could a possible issue with the control board or the middle touch board. You may need to have a professional technician out to your home for proper diagnosis. We hope this information is helpful to your repair. -Matt

GE Monogram f160 error code?

When an "F" and a number appear in the display and the cooktop beeps you have a function error code.
Touch the CONTROL LOCK pad.
Disconnect power to the cooktop and then reconnect.
If an F-code appears again, call for service.

My whirlpool (KitchenAid) induction cooktop works sometimes and other times will. The power comes on but when I try to turn on the burner it beeps and starts flashing. There are no error codes showing

It is likely the computer in the control board I have seen this many times. It is really hard to get the factory to think this cause it's new and it is expensive. But you have checked the power so there is not much more that it could be

Refer to user manual or company support, the keypad is giving you a error message of some sort, and it is dependent on the make and model on what that error message means so by referring to the manual or posting it would further help you in figuring out what the issues
