Please check that are you sure that it does not work properly .
And check that it is built properly in motherboard.
Check that it is not unplugged with your cable.
If these things may not appear with your card then you have to change it.

Sony vaio vgn-NR120E has no mic specially when u r on skype i can hear the caller but my voice is not heard by him...tell me the solutionWhat's your problem?

You're on a laptop and it's talking about a sound card?

If you can hear audio or the voice from the caller then you don't need a sound card.

Yes you can purchase an external mic and it just plugs into the mic port on your system. I think that might be why the caller can't hear you. All computers do not come with a built in microphone. And if you are skyping and using a web cam, all web cams don't have a built in microphone.

1. check the "mixer" properties to see if you have the "microphone" muted in the task bar.
2.You may have lost the sound card drivers also.
3. you will need to go into the "Device Manager" and see if you have drivers install properly > if not reinstall the drivers.

BUILT-IN MIC DOES NOT WORK

Hi,

Check on the following:

1. Check the Device Manager Window if the sound card is properly installed... If not then you'll need to install its proper drivers.

2. The volume control is not muted or at the lowest volume... there should be no checks on any of the check box under your volume control window.

Keep us posted if still does not work

Good luck!

MSI motherboard model 6734 AGP interface

Looks like your motherboard is a MSI KM4AM-L detailed here:

http://www.msicomputer.co.uk/index.php?func=proddesc&prod_no=572&maincat_no=1

If so, then it has an AGP slot which will run at 4x and 8x.

Remember to check the BIOS settings after you install it to make sure it is set to 8x, if that is what your card will take.
